Like the hybrid view.

Is there a way for a reply to have both a title and a body to the post? May actually be better without that feature.

Is there a way to return to the forum instead of the thread when you post a reply? It's a pain to have to click forum every time you post.

Seems a little slow. As bad as Yuku if not worse.

Overall, pretty good. Non-threaded view forums blow.

Looks good.

Just from an aesthetics standpoint, I dont like the way the header and advertisement line up at the top. But thats about it. The threaded view is plenty adequate. I have also gotten a few pop ups since I have been on here, but that just might be a beta thing.

More thoughts

Agree with RR that it is odd how the replies line up on the threaded view, but its not that big of a deal.

I only did this briefly, but it did not seem like I was getting the "hover" function - where you can just mouse over a topic and read a brief snippet. That is honestly a deal breaker for me. I have to be able to see whether I want to open the thread or not.

I noticed the subscription option below, which is pretty handy.

So what is the motivation behind this move? I mean I know it is something that you were always evaluating and keeping your eyes open for...we certainly should stay on the most current and user friendly forum service. What does this site offer that Yuku does not? At least from my point of view, Yuku has always worked fine.

One reason is cost. Yuku now costs about $3000/year. The hosting fees with this company are significantly less. Yuku's price is based upon page views. Hosting company will stay pretty much the same so if hte site grows - the site cost stay the same unlike Yuku. And Yuku hasn't increased their price in a few years and they are hurting for $$$.

Also, I am not sure how much longer Yuku will be in business. They have been sold about 4 times over the past 5 years and they lost their biggest board this week which accounted for 15% of their traffic. Plus - they never optimized a mobile view and I just got tired of waiting on them.

The hover feature is being looked into. They have the hover feature on topic views so hopefully it's an easy fix.

I agree.

I think I'm used to that view already. Strange. Now I get both a title and a body in my reply. Don't think that's been the case on my first few posts. Either that or I just didn't notice it.

If the page fully loads - it just loads a quick reply box under the post you are replying to and it takes the first 60 characters as your title. I like that.

if it doesn't fully load (or if you click "Go Advanced") after it fully loads - it loads the advanced post editor where you get a title and body.
