Funny that Trump never called Saban. But called Leach often

And Nick is still only representing the interest of Bama up on the hill

one that Bama dominated... yes the system is bad but I do not believe Saban gives a crap about anything but continuing that advantage for the SEC home team in Tuscaloosa
BAMA can easily play the NIL game. This thing is completely off the tracts.

Bama is a richer MSU. In that it's a blue collar fan base. Bama fans know, nil will level the field and they will be screwed.

These schools are getting the same five stars they were getting before NIL. The five stars are just getting more money above the table. The order of things have not changed.

Level the field? No, it allow the rich to dispose of the rest of the crowd.
If it is not changed soon, you will not recognize college sports, not long from now.
I'm not talking about the situation as a whole but bama specifically. They are getting out bid for guys they normally win.

Does Dim here mean “not bright” or does it mean “Democrat?” I know those aren’t mutually exclusive terms. I’m just trying to figure out who you mean by it? I know Manchin and Saban are both from Meth Virginia and are about the same age, but both are retired from those positions

Someone has to get involved. While I agree that it’s not the federal government’s place, the people who should be controlling this mess are not doing anything beyond watching the chaos.
I think the federal government should step in and ban people from changing jobs for higher pay. That will make things better **

from the stand point of a fan of a poor school, the current system sucks. So what? It’s not a morally wrong situation. It’s not dangerous. The government needs to stay away from it.

Really. Not as well as they did prior. Looks like they might not win another natty in the next 10 years. Play yes. Win it all? No.

That's the only reason Saban is there.

This. Even Bama can't afford to play the NIL game like Texas and Georgia, and heck, even Meth Virginia. Whatever the hell that is. LSU can't either. Poo! So why don't we all just sit back and enjoy** Basketball, baseball and softball.

There's nothing he can do but blow smoke. Only thing that will change will be the ncaa growing a pair (lol) or the schools/NIL slush fund entities pushing back and only signing deals that get some skin in the game on the player side (multi year deals/buyouts/etc). Seems that everyone is scared and just signing deals that are overly favorable to the players.

Executive orders have been abused by both parties for years now. This is ridiculous.

Maybe if Congress would actually go to work and stay off X,TikTok and taking vacation the need for executive orders would decrease

Your numvers got me curious- apparently this time around, Trump has already signed 143 in 3 months.

Anyways, I think your cause and effect is off. You are saying Trump has to do all these orders because Congress is doing random stuff instead of it's job.
Perhaps many are intentionally letting Trump sign all these- they have handed him the power.

Republicans are the majority in both the House and Senate. They are choosing to not utilize their power and allow Trump to do what he wants.

Theodore Roosevelt: 1,008 executive orders
William Howard Taft: 724 executive orders (one term)
Woodrow Wison: 1,803 executive orders
Warren Harding: 522 executive orders (2.4 years)
Calvin Coolidge: 1,203 executive orders (5.6 years)
Herbert Hoover: 1,003 executive orders (one term)
Franklin Roosevelt: 3,725 executive orders.

It's not the quantity, it's the quality.

Although, to be fair, before SCOTUS expanded the meaning of "interstate commerce" to enable Roosevelt's New Deal, there was less Congress could do.

I don't want Congress' involvement in college sports, but I'm starting to believe it may be necessary. This is primarily due to the Schools' reluctance to just make the athletes employees. Congress may need to craft anti trust related rules, or at least threaten to, unless the schools can resolve it.

An executive action on college sports would be an even worse idea, and that isn't based on who is holding the Office.

Teddy Roosevelt saved the game of football in the early 20th century just by threatening an executive action. Roosevelt loved football, but after a particularly deadly 1905 season, he called a bunch of university leaders to the White House and threatened to ban football if they didn't make rules and equipment changes to make it safer. They did, and they ultimately formed the NCAA.

Now, though, college sports' issues are based on legal matters that have to be addressed through appropriate channels. Despite the President's best efforts so far, he doesn't have the power to write or interpret the law. The best he can do is direct federal agencies on how to implement the law. Which then results in lawsuits over whether the law is being implemented correctly.

I don't mind POTUS involvement in finding solutions. Just leave the pen down.

No doubt but the big schools get who they want. They may only stay around one season but each year they can get who they want out of the portal, CC or high school. In recruiting you have the same top 10 teams every year with the same top 5. Only thing change is guys are not trapped once they learn they are going to ride the bench. Even then most of the highly recruited guys end up at another top 10 recruiting school for one season. By the time a blue blood school gets them more often than not they are the third transfer. Not always but most of the time. Things really haven't change. Something else different at Bama is the level of coaching.

It doesn’t matter what they do now. The big money is flowing and will do so under the table or a back alley if necessary.
