I think its his fault for quitting his job before the papers were signed.
I'd be willing to bet Dan Mullen quit UF before he ever signed a contract with MSU.

Tubby represented the situation as him having the final say in his hire. THAT is why he quit Okie State.
If Tubby hadnt misrepresented his ability to hire him without others signing off, then the situation would have gone down differently.

Now with that said, i cant see how this helps Williams in the long run. He is now an assistant coach that is willing to sue a head coach/school. That sort of coach, especially assistant coach, cant be in high demand.
Furthermore, it again highlighted and brought into the spotlight Williams' improper actions at Minnesota which cant help his professional career. Kinda cuttingoff his nose to spite his face.

Minnesota actually looks pretty good here in a way. They are saying that they are so dedicated to running a clean program that not only arent theygoing to hire someone whoviolated rules before, but they will actually pay him 6x his old salaryinstead of allowing him to work.

was that he has not worked since then...sitting on his butt waiting to get paid instead of finding another assistant coach job.

The jury just decided to pay him what he was likely going to get for 6 years when I doubt he would have had a 6 year contract at Minnesota..
Tubby said the job was his, he accepted..then it was denied by the higher ups.
You cant compare that to Dans Hiring either futaba... Before Ninja offered Dan the job I'm sure he has already done a full check of his background
or if not any agreement would be only valid based upon a checking of his background.
Tubby didnt have the ultimate authority on the hire.
