Honestly, just more of what we already knew. Fairly significant gap in success rate of under center vs shotgun.
I’m actually more along the lines of tush push/ QB sneak in any 3rd or 4th and less than 1 situation. 100% of the time that should be the call.
Sportsource.com ran the data and has the QB sneak success rate on less than a yard at 86% across FBS and NFL football.
That percentage is higher than the following:
Premier League Penalty Kicks.
NFL field goals of less than 50 yards.
NBA free throws.
MLB sacrifice bunts moving the runner (not even scoring the run)
Nick Saban’s Alabama winning pct.
Slate Alford’s fielding pct.
FBS PATs.
To the argument that you don’t practice it… why? If you have a play that’s success 86% of the time, make the time.
