Scores like last weeks and anything that comes close to fruition in that prediction, or through another shutout is going to remind me of the games we had under RRod playing against Marshla and other FCS schools in the mid-2000's.

But I am not going to get giddy just quite yet, until we play and maybe win against Maryland... especially if we do it in convincing fashion.

Maryland lost their QB, DC and front 7 defense from last year; two returning All-B1G defensive backs from last year. Since the game is at home I think a solid running game will get us the momentum needed to make this a "W" and possibly a top 25 ranking. Undefeated 3 games/4 weeks into the season should be worth a look nationally.

But I don't really want to count my chickens just yet...

I think I'd make that a teeny, teeny, teeny chance of the defense giving up zero points when WVU goes to Oklahoma.

That's not a knock on the defense, which deserved the shutout against GaSo. But shutouts are pretty rare. 3 in a row is almost unheard of.

I'll be happy with a solid victory over Liberty, and a decent margin of victory, and a triumph over Maryland, since the Terps game quite often indicates how WVU's total season will go.

Meanwhile, the offense has some work to do. Other than Durante and friend streaking down the field and out-clawing the defenders. All those two need to do it match what they did against GaSo and nearly every WVU fan will be thrilled. Durante has the potential to match Kevin White by the time he leaves WVU.

I'm not convinced at all yet on our team. Do I think people had us underrated for prediction our season.....yes, but I also think Gosouthern was way overrated. Now if we blow out Liberty like we should and then beat MD by 10-14 points then I will be convinced we have a pretty solid team.

We are under radar for sure. It reminds me of pat whites first year. Ended with sugar bowl win over Georgia. Feels good for sure.
