on Locke's blog especially for the Bears giving Coach and others here a hard time about stating Wallace's commitment didn't sit well with Liggins and his family :

Liggins said Wallace's commitment "kind of affected my decision a little bit," and he said MSU's current two-quarterback setup could "make a difference," too.

Don't know if it will ultimately stop him from going to OM but the words he used made it pretty clear he was NOT happy with Freeze bringing in the JUCO QB. Of course, whether he is being told to his face or not, Freeze is not recruiting Liggins to be a QB. If he wants to stay in state and play QB he better come play for Mullen.

was that Liggins had told certain people BEFORE yesterday that if Wallace went to Mississippi- it would greatly impact his decision...so the Bear poster trying to act all "internet cool" and give me **** for saying that just 2 hours after Wallace committed is laughable<div>
</div><div>And once aGAIN- I'm right...but you wont see them listing things like this when trying to give me ****</div>

" Liggins had told certain people BEFORE yesterday that if Wallace went to Mississippi- it would greatly impact his decision"

Which one should we believe?

It shouldn't matter what quarterback OM signs, because Liggins will never play quarterback. He is in denial if he thinks otherwise. It would be beneficial for him to nut up and realize that he is a defensive end, and then make a decision based on that position.

Wasn't Liggins on his official visit when Freeze offered Wallace?

Don't think we'll let him forget that.

Mullen wants Liggins<div>Mullen offered Wallace to force Freeze to offer instead of him walking on- and also to give Liggins something else to think about in his decision</div><div>
</div><div>I dont know where Liggins is going to go- but I DO know that Wallace signing with Oxford helps us. Will it be enough? I hope so</div>

"I really like that coaching
staff they have; they have a good coaching staff. <span style="font-weight: bold;">I see that they're
bringing in a lot of Mississippi guys to try</span> and turn that program
around <span style="font-weight: bold;">and win a national championship with Mississippi guys.</span>"
</p>

It should be pointed out, I've heard he's Bama bound for 2 years now. And that DE is his money position. It'll be interesting to see what he decides as far as trying to make it at QB or DE.

When a guy I know for a fact has inside connections tells me something and then the player confirms it the next day, I'm going to believe it every time. Youre just grasping at straws.

the ins and outs, but I do know Wallace never had a committable offer from Texas. Whether or not he ever would have gotten one, I don't pretend to know. Mack Brown almost always makes his scholarship offers in person, most often on an official visit. That visit, with Wallace, never happened.

Since the bears love to quote Yancy.<div>
</div><div>Although he did say in the end he thought Liggins would sign with Ole Miss because he Parents and Grandparents all live in Oxford and wanted to be close. Plus most of the Liggins's were Ole Miss alums. Which honestly sounds like a whole lot to overcome. He said that LSU has been on him consistently for over a year and that the Nutt crew seemed to take him for granted and not give him any love. He also said that Mullen and Co. have been on him hard and that we're a real player. He also said that Liggins'Granddadwas very concerned about the academic situation at Ole Miss right now. Not just about the number of players potentially in academic hot water but the apparent lack of emphasis on academics. This was on his radio show just before Wallacecommittedso that may have additional impact.</div><div>
</div><div>Now to put that through the 'truth-o-meter'. I'm pretty sure that LSU has backed off Liggins a whole lot since they signed Gunner Kiel. I think they are just recruiting Liggins as an 'athlete' and I honestly don't think they burn another scholarship on a 2nd QB in this class. Especially with Mettenberger and the Rivers kid already on the roster. I figure Yancy is pumping up this to be a big win over LSU and Mullen for Freeze. Frankly it would be a big win over Mullen because Liggins would be a beast in our spread offense. He's the perfect prototype for our Offense.</div>

I think LSU has backed off, from everything I've read on the internet (aka my sources). Unless they want him as something other than a QB and their class is pretty stacked right now. They routinely have to turn away top tierLouisiana talent.

He's good, and I would love to have him in Oxford, but at this point, I think State and Ole Miss are the only schools who would give him a shot at QB, which means he'll sign with one of us. I'm sure Wallace muddied the waters for Ole Miss.

I guess its just a coincidence that even fancy is saying um is down to #3 on his list. You are being ridiculous about this. Fact is coach was right. Hate that for you.

I've seen the guy play, and he is fast, makes good decisions, has a good arm, is hard to bring down, has good escapability, and among other things, is over 5'9"....<div>
</div><div>If you weigh 250 but you still run a 4.5 or 4.6, what does it matter how big you are? Also, I seriously doubt that the recruitment of Wallace would have "affected his decision" if he wasn't being recruited as a QB by everybody on his radar.</div><div>
</div><div>Could be wrong, but I think he comes to State, and I think he plays QB</div>

is great, but it feels like I've seen the "Ole Miss signs badass JUCO QB" movie before. Don't get me wrong, Freeze needs a quick fix, and Wallace fits his system, but I'm not cranking up the Heisman campaign just yet.

Said as of now OM was in 3rd but in the end he felt Liggins would be a rebel. It was actually a decent radio bit, he sounded much less efiminate that I had imagined. Although I was thinking something along the lines of Nathan Lane in 'the Bird Cage'.

I don't think he's going to be another Randall Mackey/Brent Schaffereither. For the record, I told everyone that would listen those two would fail the day you signed them. You never know, but I think he'll be a decent QB for you. I wish we had signed him.

qb prospect out of GA (?) that he is msu's #1 qb target? forcing freeze to use a scholly might be a good, smart move and may be correct but for a guy slick enough to do that one wonders how liggins hearing that he's not msu's real desire at qb sits. or maybe mullen knows he's not getting liggins anyway. just a little thursday morning ruminating.

but think Mullen wants to add a QB to this class. In the SEC West, it might not be so wise to go into the '12 season without a #3 having snaps in the fall.

is bothered by us recruting wallace then he would be just at bothered by msu recruiting another qb and telling him he's number one. and if they're telling both they are number one then their credibility gets into question. the recruiting games are interesting to see play out.
