He was added to the Jacksonville Jaguars active roster on December 21. How hard would it have been for Jr. to have had a $200,000 dollar signing bonus or addition added to his Jacksonville Jaguars contract brokered through the agency that Kenny Rogers works for. Cecil Newton, Jr. is Cam's older brother. I haven't researched this, but was told this at work today and did confirm that Jr. was added to the Jacksonville Jaguars roster on December 21 which would have been right on the timeline. I don't think there is going to be any proof of wrong doing that the NCAA is going to find on the Newton's part. Also (rumor alert), I heard that the NCAA interviewed a council woman that was on the committee involved with Cecil's church and she told the NCAA that Cecil said he would have the money once his son signed his contract with the Jaguars. Just stuff I have been hearing over here near Auburn, so take it FWIW.

The school that Cam Newton left. I don't think Weaver would be someone who'd be giving favors to the Newton family.

why would it have to be an addition to the contract? couldn't the contract itself be the payoff?

what if the agent just went to a contact with the Jaguars, and said just make this guy (Cecil Jr.) one of your practice squad guys, in exchange for (whatever). practice squad guys are a dime a dozen.

Why would the Jaguars either pony up $200,000 themselves or even agree to be the intermediary to illegally funnel $200,000 just so Auburn can get themselves a JUCO QB. I don't buy it.
