Mullen is the best coach in football, barring none. He has finally gotten the right coaches. He's getting the right players. Three more years, he wins the SEC, thus the NC.

2 games isn't much when you consider...

You know, that 6 wins gives you a shot at a bowl game, while 5 does not. Plus, MSU lost 2 difficult OOC games (as they had the top SoS in the nation), while ole miss lost the only one they had.

So yeah, the 2 wins aren't that much when you look at SoS.

Not when it includes the bowl game...so yes, Hugh had only one more regular season win against a much easier schedule.

Not only was State's 2009 OOC schedule tougher, he had 8-win Aub/Ark teams...

So Mullen in 2009 didn't get the benefit of playing Auburn and Arkansas teams with 3-9 and 4-8 records like Freeze did this year. If 2012 Arkansas and Auburn were at their 2009-2011 levels, OM likely would have been going into the Egg Bowl at 3-8 and with a 21-game SEC losing streak.

Mullen's first year was MSU playing against #1 strength of schedule in the nation and was 2inches from 6-6. Bucky had UCA, Tulane and three other directional schools

how does his first 4 year record say anything about his ceiling? esp when in yr 4 he was blown out by every good team he faced and according to msu fans one bad team? nobody knows what his "ceiling" is till he shows he can't go any higher...and some would say he's there. not me of course.
