As for what he expects from the program in the seasons that follow his departure, Whitney was positive. “It’s headed in the right direction, I don’t think there’s any question on that,” he said

he could have said:

"hopefully these guys can start turning it around next year" or "I think we will be better"...something like that. The fact he was so adament tells me alot

He has been better than most of the people we have started this year. I guess he has a better attitude than Jet Butler.

Often, people inside the program are the worst people to assess the state of a program. They simply can't be objective. How many times in Jackie's last 3 years and during the entire Crxxm era did we hear similar comments from players? Pretty much every year.

I don't doubt that he does have a better attitude. However, I also take the comments with a grain of salt because if he said "God, we all hate Cohen"- well then he looks like the one that has the problem. And what would that really accomplish? Cohen is coming back next year, and probably the year after that as well.

Baseball players, and probably all athletes for that matter, don't tell the media everything.

If there's a recurrent theme from the players in the media it's this- "We're playing tight"- I take that to mean that they can't play because Cohen is running their *** in the ground.

of Mississippi State baseball. After hearing from so many sources how much the players hate Cohen but like each other, I'm really wondering if it's intentional. He's giving his players a common enemy to hate. That bonds people quicker than anything else.

Once he has enough talent, this approach might work.
