I don't like Vitello and the antics of his players. But considering how some politicians regularly violate behavioral norms yet still have devoted followers and defenders, should we really get the vapors and act outraged because a college baseball team doesn't behave like a church league softball team?

He was perfect for a program that hadn't had much success, but fans that had a little edge. Tennessee turned out to be the perfect fit.

I could see him one day bolting for Arkansas if Van Horn ever leaves, who has the same type fans as Tennessee but a bigger commitment to baseball. If he ever wants to win big at an established, more historical program. I know he's from Missouri but I don't see him ever going back there, he's not going to rebuild again.

He only knows his way. And his way is over the top swagger, which has its limits and ends up being more of a weakness than a strength. A bit immature in the grand scheme of things, but it is his way and the only way he knows. Not a good look but he will do what he does.

I will say listening to him the past 2 years on the MLB draft day roundtable they have, he's actually a funny dude. Comes across night and day differently than on the field

No, not if your unspoken politician or baseball team wins. If people get triggered by it, it's their problem.
