Stallings and Vandy are on their way up, we are headed downward

Stallings also has a great shot at a 3rd Sweet 16 appearance

Seriously, he's been at Vandy for ELEVEN YEARS, and he's just now got them heading in the right direction? He's having a good year this year, but he hasn't even BEEN to the NCAA tournament in either of the last 2 years.

2010- NCAA Tourney and ranked- 23-7, 12-4
2009- 19-12, 8-8
2008- NCAA Tourney, 26-8, 10-6
2007- NCAA Tourney, 22-12, 10-6.....Sweet 16
2006- 17-13, 7-9...NIT

also had a Sweet 16 in 2004

Wanna compare that to our last 5 years? And they even play on the tough side of the SEC

2010- No NCAA Tourney, 21-10, 9-7
2009- NCAA Tourney, 23-13, 9-7
2008- NCAA Tourney, 23-11, 12-4
2007- 21-14, 8-8....NIT
2006- 15-15, 5-11

Vandy has easily passed us by

Stallings is probably trembling in his shoes right now knowing that he's the latest in a long line of coaches to be given the Coach34 kiss of death. Like clockwork, every time you tout a coach as being better than Stans, his career flames out and he's fired within 2 years, never to be heard from again (except Gottfried who landed a job as an analyst for college basketball games).

they have passed us by already....

I said Brady was more successful than Standsbury- and he still is
Gottfried? 7 NCAA's to Stansbury's 6...had a winning record his last 9 seasons at Bammer, including the year he was fired

Stallings has easily passed Standsbury the last 5 years

But comparing teams in the East and West is like apples to oranges. Over the last twelve years, the East has been much better than the West.

blowout record of 68-14. I'm not sure what the site author considers a blowout, but it's only happened 14 times in Stansbury's tenure.

1. Schedule crap for the out of conference, mostly all at home
2. Locate yourself in the western half of the Southeastern Conference

The End.

Well, we got blown out by Bama one year, so that's 15 extra ones left.

Given that we play all those games against awesome Eastern division teams 6 times a year, and he's been here 12 years, that's 72 chances to get blown out. Still hasn't happened that often.

36 of them were at home- so much less chance of getting blown out at home...unless you're playing someone like a Rider perhaps OOC

But one of those two has won single digit SEC games in TWO seasons combined and the other hasn't been to the NCAA tournament in 5 years as a coach. You might want to find better examples.

is that he preaches rebounding and our teams definitely oblige.

I just wished he'd add some offensive sets and strategy to his sermons...

as our guards got smaller, our rebounding prowess lessened.

That's also why switching every ball screen is far less effective.
