College attendance is down 2% and NFL has also seen a drop in attendance making reference to $100 parking at Cowboy Stadium. If you are sitting in the upper deck in most stadiums, aren't you going for the game-day experience only and not to watch the game? Has TV become too great of a product to the point it is hurting attendance? I think many choose watching the game on 46 inch TV in HD as compared to paying $100 a ticket and sit in the upper deck at places like Bama. What's your thoughts?

I think it's several factors, not the least of which is the crappy economy. But regardless of income, I'd don't think I'd pay $100 to park anywhere for a game ... that plus the tickets and other expenses can really run into money. Sports, particularly professional sports, are pricing many fans out of attending.

Bama doesn't have an attendance problem. They had over 101,000 at the Ole Miss game. There were a few empty seats in the upper reaches of the new upper deck expansion, but very few and those seats are always vacant. But me personally ... I'd much rather watch a game on television than go to Bryant Denny. When I was there two years ago, it took 3 hours to get from my parking place, over a mile from the stadium, to I-20/59. That's a bit much for me. I won't go back there, gameday experience or not.

For me the reason for being at the game is the excitement in the stadium. I've never been in the upper deck where I felt like the crowd was that excited. Maybe it's different now.

And honestly, other than an MSU game, I'd rather watch any college game on tv regardless. If I'm not a fan of either of the schools playing, I'm just not going to be that into it and would rather be able to flip between games. An occasional road trip to see a good team from a new stadium is fine, but I'm not going to drop a lot of money on it.

I enjoy the comfort of sitting in my recliner, eating what I decided to cook or pick up, having my drink of choice, and having the option to flip to any game I want on my 65" hd Samsung. There's no little ******** hopped up on sugar that would rather be anywhere else but at the game. There's no one behind me with their feet propped on my chair back spilling food and drink all over me. There's no one giving me a hard time about adding jack to my coke. There's no one constantly going up and down the aisle to piss or go to the concession stand. There's no one asking 2 of the friends to sit with them taking up half my seat.

I do enjoy going to sporting events every now and then, but for the most part I like to keep my anti-social *** at home.

Don't forget pause, and fast forward ability

Nothing like skipping commercials, and being able to go to the bathroom without missing anything.

The NFL trend is easy. Pro sports in general have turned their back on Joe Sixpack. For many years they have been growing and pricing themselves to corporate clients. Now the corps aren't so healthy and regular guy has long since been priced out of the game.

Not to mention that the way players are paid has to be covered by ticket prices as well.
