Regardless of the outcome of this lawsuit, after reading Richard Mercardo's comments to the Green kid on Facebook, he should face a lifetime ban from the IHSA. I'm not implying that he influenced the officials actually working the game. That would be an indictment on their integrity. I'm simply saying that, as a certified IHSA official myself, I'm embarrassed that this "man" would claim to have "done what was necessary to ensure the Nazareth win." Mercardo, if he is patched, needs to have it stripped immediately. His judgement, character, and integrity will forever be in question. Complete betrayal of the entire Corp of officials.
