Kaneland vs Rochelle 42-7
Sycamore vs sandwich 49-0
Morris vs Ottawa 62-12
Lasalle Peru vs Plano 40-8

What a bunch of great games all eight schools should be proud of putting such a great conference together for these kids to enjoy..........NOT!

Lopsided garbage pretty much every game was over before the end of the first quarter this conference is a joke and I’m over it

I’m not whining just stating the facts that I’ve been watching across our new conference for the first three weeks. But hey it doesn’t surprise me somebody from peotone would just have to chime in on the topic

No i dont know. Expressing the lopsidedness of the conference isn't whining. It's a fact. The enrollment of these 8schools is pretty drasticly different. Conferences like this would benefit from districts. Does that sound like whinning?

You do realize that Sandwich and Plano really had no other option...right? Rochelle appears to be having a down year,usually stronger than their record so far this year.Ottawa has over 1300 students...issue there?? No surprise to many that Sycamore,Kaneland and Morris would be near top of league.

Also the old NIB 12 enrollments ranged from 841-1840.This year 698-1328.

My take as a long time I8 fan is that Plano and Sandwich got the shaft.

If you are a Plano or Sandwich supporter, I feel like you have a valid gripe. I feel pretty certain that they didn’t desire or ask for this. Not sure what their options are. Maybe reach out to the Big Northern?

Plenty of options for plano and sandwhich... go grab Dixon, Mendota, and Rock Falls from Big Northern, and Princeton and maybe Spring Valley Hall from three rivers. Plano to rock falls is a little hike but i dont think it’s terrible.

Problem would be convincing Hall and Princeton but a lot of those other schools are in odd conferences.

Hey carawhatever, were half way through the season..do you want us to stop play this year and figure it out?? We all know this was going to be a 3 horse race , sycamore,kaneland and Morris. I'm sure when the football season is over things will be discussed.. But the only solution I see is disbanding the conference. Maybe a new ICE 10 can be formed. Bottom line is they have to do what's best for the kids. Forming new conferences isn't that easy. If 1 or 2 or3 teams leave a conference, where's that leave the remaining teams??? In search of 2 or 3 new teams.. other than disbanding this conference, districts is the only viable option. Now YOU can move on.

Great, sounds like you've identified a possible fix. My suggestion is to stop whining and work towards getting something done. I look forward to YOUR progress.

Let me add.....I’m not hating. I always liked playing Sandwich and Plano. I just see many flaws in keeping them in the conference.

Travel for some of the schools was pretty far. That doesn’t bother me because a lot of smaller schools do travel.

My biggest beef was having ten teams. If that was reformatted I’d be for it, but I did not like the lack of non conference games. I know that was fixed the last couple of years but then you are still wasting non conference games to play a rival if you don’t already have them scheduled in a crossover. Example CC and Wilmo.

That being said I’m not sure why we can’t get a quality non-con game. Are people that scared of Wilmo? I loved when we had Hall on the schedule. Let’s get Clifton, or Maroa, or somebody that’s a perreniel tough team. Let’s see how 2 And 3 or 3 and 4 stack up.

If we were to keep sandwich and Plano the only logical way I personally would be in favor is if we got rid of Streator and I don’t know who the other would be but I’m not a fan of a ten team conference.

I’m aware of how it works (I’m a coach and have worked in my AD office very closely, plus have my 75). Just saying.

Why couldn’t they have stayed for all sports except football? Football is really the only sport that a conference matters. I know scheduling is tough as an independent but you have more leniency in other sports. Football is 9 weeks with two days to play varsity games. Every other sport is much more open ended.

And that’s a question for the powers that be. Not trying to be a jerk.

Well thank you. I don’t really see a need to pick fights about high school sports on a message board. I think any negativity I have is pent up frustration pertaining to conference hopping and talk of districts and alllllll the other crap we complain about on a yearly basis. Bottom line is we should all just be thankful for the opportunity to support the school we care about in a sport we love.

The high school conferences should get contracts to play against other conferences. Like the ICE and big northern sign a 5 year deal to rotate opponents for non con games. Kinda like colleges do.

Wilmo and CC would of definitely kept it going and scheduled a non conference game between them. They did in the past

That’s my point. Then they don’t get two non con games or they can’t build a rivalry with other schools. Or then you get people like DHS who bring up how Wilmo and Herscher didn’t play every year.

I like a single conference of 8 teams. Just my preference.

We’re in all the games not nearly a 55-0 score
I will be happy to take a loss with a close score like that these days

Morris was toward the bottom of the old NIB12 in enrollment, they did alright for themselves most years.

I don't think they ever won the conference, but they usually made the playoffs. Strong program year in and out.
