Hard to get a major when they run away from you the whole matches
Ferrari was about to finally finish a shot when they called a ******** PD call when he just pulled Angelo’s knee toward his butt as Angelo have driving through him. According to the Florida guys, his opponent is very hard to take down, and very much so when he literally was just backing up and playing defense to not get bonused. I hope PK, Drake, and the Arkansas boys were getting over the Flu, especially PK. He powered through tough matches all weekend at national duels and never seemed to get tired. In this match, he almost got put to his back twice in the first, and seemed to be staggering with fatigue in the 2nd already. Was also ******** it took the refs 2 minutes to figure out they called for a review too late.

When Williams stopped wrestling, that gave up a bonus point, didn’t it? If that is the result of the dual, he should be done.
He didn’t even turn his Fing head to realize his opponent hadn’t stopped wrestling like he did, and gave up a bonus point. Doing that is so opposite of Brands philosophy. Does he know who he’s wrestling for? Even if he’s sick or injured, which I don’t think, that is unacceptable. I have a feeling those two came here for a paycheck and are laughing all the way to the bank. Him getting arrested this summer was probably a sign. Need to get Estrada healthy and cutting to 141, and I guess VV at 157 for the rest of the year if these two’s attitude’s can’t be adjusted. I think Estrada could do some damage at 141 if he can hold the weight for a season. Hate to see him riding pine while Williams and Bailey cash checks and throw in the towel after stepping on the mat.

It won't be
Jesus, the sky isn’t falling. Both teams that beat us have a **** load of talent this year. tOSU was red hot, doubt Tom can keep them all at that level all year. Best team IA state has had in many years, and they should have beat us 2 years ago and choked. Drake losing was a disappointment, but PK losing was shocking. Ben looked like his feet were stuck in the mud. If he doesn’t get over what’s bothering him, the match against AJ could be ugly. Striking out on our transfers at 141/157 is really hurting us, along with Drakes slow start.

Props to Dresser on using the lung timeout fir Gaitan.

Use the rules to your benefit.

He's still a POS, tho.
You are giving Dresser way too much credit for the lung time out as they truly thought there were lock hands and was late calling it. I remember seeing what they thought might be locked hands.

I think Kennedy was trying to be Superman too much today. Loved huis fire but he will always be a lunch box physical wrestler. Horrible hip defense. He gave up his hips three or four times today by being overly aggressive. He’s a top 5 in March.
Agree, he got away from what makes him tough in the later part of matches. Which is pressure/grinding early and staying in position to feed a guy hips on defense. If he would have done this, he may have had Gaitens tired enough in the 3rd to run him over. Instead he got him self in positions in scrambling where he was almost pinned and was wasting energy fighting it off. He’s not going to win a free for all scrambling match with a superior athlete and scrambler. It was almost like he had no respect for Gaintens and thought he could throw causation to the wind.

At this point, the only sure fire AA's are Caliendo and Ferrari.

Likely AA at 133, 174....but not a lock at either
Good chance at 125, 149, 197 & Hwt
No shot at 133, 157

Could see IOWA anywhere from 4th to 8th
Put the bottle down and quit trying to play wrestling fan

They can say whatever they want - they're not getting it done and haven't been for years.
The only available guy that would have a prayer of doing better that TnT right now is Jason Nolf. He’s not as big a name as Taylor, but is from PSU , which all kids worship now. He said on Flo that he wants a college program of his own, and has ideas who he would want to coach with him. He’s not interested in being a top assistant, even to lord Taylor. Don’t know if he could recruit at Taylor’s level right away, but I think he could be a better coach. Maybe if you offered him a guaranteed head job when TnT retire he would consider being an assistant for us??

Ok now that I watched the dual, and it didn't really affect the outcome so I don't sound like a sore loser, but the stalling was called extremely oddly in that dual. I don't see how you can hit Kueter and Peterson in the first period, but not Frost at 133 or Paniro ever. I prefer the way they called it against Kueter, BTW, just not consistent. The one against Dean Peterson was insane.

If they had just called every match like they did the Kueter match, I think college wrestling would be better.

Here is the complete criteria for the breaking of ties per the NCAA Wrestling Rules Book:

Section 21. Breaking Ties in Dual Meets and Team-Advancement Tournaments
When two teams finish in a tie in a dual meet or a team-advancement tournament, the following criteria shall be applied to determine a winner:

a. Greater number of victories. Note: Forfeits, defaults and disqualifications count toward total number of victories.
b. Combined total number of falls, forfeits, defaults and disqualifications.
c. Total match points scored only from decisions, major decisions and technical falls.
d. Total near fall points scored only from decisions, major decisions and technical falls. (Example: N-2 + N-3 + N-4 = Total of 9 near fall points scored for one team.)
e. Total number of takedowns scored only from decisions, major decisions and technical falls. (Example: T-3 + T-3 + T-3 = Total of 3 takedowns scored for one team.)
f. Least number of unsportsmanlike conduct calls.
g. First takedown scored in the dual meet. One team point shall be awarded to the team winning by criteria.

How do you figure? They are losing a lot of experience and talent.
ISU been better getting talent in place. We lose 3 of our 4 best wrestlers and Kueter is uncertain after returning to football. Iowa will have an incredibly young and inexperienced team next year.

They did beat Iowa two years ago.. at ncaas. They got a team trophy while Iowa finished 5th. This board laughed at the time bc they thought only top 3 got a trophy so "who cares".. then the ncaa walked that back and sent the cyclones a trophy in the mail while the Hawks got to try and recruit kids from other teams to carry the water over the finish line. This isn't Dan Gables Iowa, that's for damn sure.

Ferrari winning every match by a point or in OT will eventually catch up to him unfortunately. You don't wrestle that way and get away with it forever. Just hope he learns his lesson before ncaas and doesn't end up as another Mike Evans type

Paniro would’ve been stalled out if they were called evenly. Head scratching how inconsistent those calls were.

Clearly? Show us the video you have re-watched
Was curious, so I re-watched that match on ESPN. You can see the claimed clasp happen within the first two seconds of the first ride-out period. With the angle, it’s pretty likely the ISU corner didn’t catch it in real time. At the end of the period, you can see them turned around talking to Chris Perry, who’s probably telling them there was a clasp. Watching the replay, it really does look like a legitimate attempt to challenge — not a lung timeout.

That said, once the official heard what the challenge was about, he should’ve known it could only have occurred in those first 12 seconds before the escape. Since that window had already passed, the challenge should’ve been dismissed as untimely right away.

I dont think Keuter is a HW. Hes not a LB
( speed) or a DE ( weight) either. Hes a tweener in both sports.

The minute the kid decided to play football they should have been recruiting another heavy
He's 240-245 now that's not a 197

i think both are true.

there was a clasp (i caught it as it happened and ISU probably did too). but also dresser knew he waited far too long.
