What the hell has happened to Ayala? I know some of these younger guys are studs, but damn

He’s a pace wrestler with like 2 moves. Tough to face the first time and he feasts on lower talent. But as we’ve seen this year, he’s figured out and if you make him scramble he’s clearly not comfortable.

I can't even understand what is or isn't reaction time anymore but this looks like a takedown if we go by some of the recent calls, and not if we go by others. We need consistency either way
Reaction time sucks. It makes sense on paper but there’s no good way to enforce it.

They could wrestle 100 times and ayala ain't touching him. Probably wouldn't get a takedown in 100 matches either

He’s been training there a bunch for over a year. Made a huge jump when he started going out there. Indirectly a major reason we lost Bassett.
Exactly. He kicked twice to get out of it too. Not that it changes the final result but seemed pretty likely to be overturned.
Been an elite same amount of time these other freshman at 33 have. Same age just a few months later in the college room
Typically as the smaller weight guys with Iowa get older, the more the rest of the wrestling world catches up to them / the worse they get.........
I don't see a way where ayala wins that, but going from a takedown and 4 points for Forrest to 3 for Drake and an escape is quite a different match.
Kale can wrestling with Vega. I was very wrong on the O/U 5.
