If that is true, why is it pointed out in the tweet, "Vets day is sold out"?

It was the latest game to sell out, try reading instead of acting like a ***! You see they have real fans who go and support their team regardless of record.

Pointing it out only shows disdain for RU football, that's why.

Iowa has sold out 5 of it's 7 home games this season
and twitted that so people know that there's only 2 home games left that tickets can be obtained.
Pointing it out only shows disdain for RU football, that's why.
What could have been be pointed out is the honor Rutgers has in being a part of this:
Iowa’s contest with Rutgers (Nov. 11) is Family Weekend and Military Appreciation Day, as part of Distinguished Veteran’s Weekend. Iowa athletics will have special acknowledgments to active duty and veterans of the armed services.

In the fourth year of a rebuild that is the type of game you could see a team rise to the occasion and score an upset.

No need for that. It's beneath you.

BTW their HC game is Oct. 7 vs Purdue
You know what’s beneath me Colby ? And beneath you and every other RU fan ? It’s supporting and rooting for an illegitimate, fraudulent Big10 team and deifying the phony coach who’s been jet fuel on the small fire he inherited. Pandemonium in Piscataway is a distant, irrelevant memory. The new reality is “Busch is Burning”.

Are you able to watch games in Thailand ? The word that best describes the offense is the word ‘grotesque’. Make a fist with your right hand, then count how many fingers are extended. That’s how many times we got to midfield against the vaunted Maryland D. Is there another team FBS, FCS or even D2 who would suffer such futility? Absolutely not. We are all alone in football disasterland. Repeat the fist exercise re: points scored against mighty Minnesota. Without looking, can you guess how many other shutouts Minnesota had in P5 games ? I’ll help you answer. Close your fist again.

When I meet people and chat college football, and they ask what team I root for, the polite ones grin and the rest laugh. They’re not wrong.

I’m not getting any younger and I knew right off the bat the Schiano 2.0 era would be almost a full decade of football misery. I don’t have many more decades left and Schiano is robbing me and all of us of all legitimate hope for a competitive program. It’s not for lack of a fieldhouse, as the asinine unnamed poster repeats ad nauseum. It’s not because of the prior two head coaches. it’s because the head coach isn’t competent.

There’s real tragedy in our world today: the assassination in Ecuador, Ukraine, Maui fires and more. This isn’t that of course. But our fire will last many more years. Through the diversion sports enables we should have personal hope and joy. But what we have as Rutgers football fans is our own raging fire without the resources or ambition to quell it. With Schiano there will be no joy, unless one finds it Wagner Saturdays every year. Instead we have fans who think Schiano walks on water and at the same time think 5 wins is ok. I don’t, and I’m sure you don’t. 5 wins should not be the bar for a good season.

So no, suggesting our team is the Big10 chump and patsy is not beneath me. It’s the truth.

It's always good to vent. You need to be clearer though about your feelings towards the current head coach.
However I would never call my team a "chump team" even if you think that it's true.
To be clear I'm not one of those "GS walks on water" fans. But he's the coach right now and that's not changing in the near future so I want to see him succeed instead of pondering who's next.
As for watching games I do watch every game live which many times requires me to wake up at 2 or 3 in the morning.

You also lose me when you refer to the Chris Ash years as "a small fire". An 8-32 record, 3 B1G 10 wins (all in the same year) zero OOC Power 5 wins in 3 plus seasons. You want to bring up embarassing losses? How about Kansas, Eastern Michigan, losing 41-0 to a 5-7 Indiana team in 2017, getting destroyed by Buffalo? Plus the 1-7 under Nunz. These are all indicative of "a small fire"?
Now eventhough we're no where near where we all want to be but in three years GS is 12-22, 6 B1G 10 wins and two Power 5 OOC wins. All improvements over "the small fire" years.
Saying that "jet fuel on a small fire" would seem to indicate that you think that we are worse off now then we were in 2019. I know that you can't actually believe that.
Let me be clear that I'm not happy with 5 wins a year. We should be a bowl team every year and looking at 7 wins a year. I don't think that we 'll ever be tOSU, UM or even PSU. But we can aspire to be at least a middle of the road B1G 10 team like Michigan St with an occasional breakout year.

Colby, what makes Ash a small fire in comparison is the salary and length of Schiano’s contract. As stated, this is a fire we can’t afford to put out. Ash was cheap to cut loose.

Further, many fans are more loyal to Schiano than they are to the program giving Hobbs cover to keep him. Ash wasn’t a Jersey guy, which oddly matters to a majority of fans.

So yes, Schiano is more damaging overall.

So how much should we pay a B1G 10 head coach? Isn't GS currently 13th out of 14 coaches? Funny thing but I don't care how much a coach gets paid. Also odd that if the cost of a coach is high on your list why didn't you mention that in your initial rant?
So in a one word answer, yes or no, do you think the program is in worse shape today than it was in 2019?
No qualifiers, is the program in worse shape today then it was when GS was hired?

Sold out to support the vets, NOT because of Rutgers.
Some of you guys are funny. Iowa sells out most of their home games. Nothing to do with “the veterans”. No one goes to a football game to show support to the veterans.

Sorry my mistake. He was tied for 12th last year. If you want to complain about a coaches salary I suggest you become a Spartan fan. Without Walker he's 7-12 but makes $9 million.

I’d like to be straight with you, but ‘shape’ needs to be defined. So I need to qualify. It’s close. I think the programs are in similar shape. This team is better than Ash’s last team, but:
1. last place is last place
2. Schiano is a much heavier anchor because we’re stuck with him

If we say, did we have more potential to be competitive 5 years out at the beginning of Ash’s last year or today, I’d say we had more potential at the beginning of Ash’s last year be because we weren’t stuck with him.

Also, salary rankings don’t matter. What matters is whether a program is able to fire a losing coach and eat the money. A coach can be the lowest paid and that school still the most house poor.

I like the word “ grotesque”. Defines us scheduling Wagner for the 2nd consecutive year. Instead, We should have scheduled the Columbia Debate Team. They’d be more competitive.
