So these guys muster eight wins in the lightweight division that is the big 12, but they’re gonna exceed that in the Big Ten?
I expect some of those ISU guys are going to find themselves behind some dudes on the depth chart next fall but PSU lost virtually all of their recruiting class, QBs and RBs.

Mix those guys in with what they had and who knows. ISU had some good players. I’ll wait to see how Matt does there before I make judgement. What he did at ISU was remarkable. I have no idea who stayed at Penn st

Not going to try to find out, but I would think the fan base is less than excited that numerous low 3 star prospects who felt ‘lucky’ to receive a offer from ISU now look at the PSU roster and think WTF!

I do like how they tried to spin this as a good hire...but then Matt just goes and brings in all these dudes that could not win big at ISU!

At least Franklin brought in really good players AND won a lot.

Here's another twist, Nebraska is getting the Iowa St players MC didn't want.

I see the MC Penn St project similar to Fickell/Wisconsin. I don't think it will end well.

Or who didn’t want to play at Penn St. some guys like to be closer to home so it’s easy for family and friends to attend the game. Not wanting to live across the country does not mean Campbell wouldn’t have taken them.

Interested to see how Campbell does at PSU. Whether taking a bunch of his players with him is a good thing or not is TBD. For his sake he better get it right because Happy Valley will not give him the same slack he received in Ames. Living surrounded by PSU fans I know how bloodthirsty they can get

Taking the best players off a decent Big 12 team is a pretty damn good result. I don't give two ***** what their stars out of HS or their draft grade was. And then think about the instant impact that getting guys from the same system will have. And for good measure, Iowa State would beat James Madison.

Campbell had to if he wants to try to win any games this year. It also might help him install his offense and defense more quickly.

I wonder how much of Franklin’s buyout PSU actually has to pay since Franklin was hired at a similar value. That to so
Me degree might influence how patient their fans are with Campbell. THEIR AD is going to be the guy who gets axed first if the football program goes south.

They agreed to a reduced buyout of roughly $9 million

campbell is taking isu's cream to state college. i suspect this upgrades the overall roster knocking out the bottom twenty or so, even if most of the former clones never play much.

campbell is a high character guy now at an elite football school. in my view, psu is in the same class as N. but i don't know if matt is the equivalent of fickell, lanning, or (most likely) somewhere in between?

i do agree with most here, it will be worth watching. my sense is that penn state is in better position than most. all we know for sure is the b12 is not better for him leaving.

The problem is MC is a culture guy. He wants his culture. What better way to do that than to bring your roster off and instill it. This feels like MC is going to build slow with Penn State. Not sure the fans will be thrilled with that though.

Franklin agreed to a reduced buyout . So there will be no offset
