I agree the release wasn't enough... and I'm glad I'm not a ref. I would've given Echemendia takedowns simply because of Bailey's Jay Beagle-like turtling. And that would've been incorrect, so I'm glad wasn't officiating the match.
I have to say I’ve been pretty impressed with Block so far this year. He’s much improved over last year. Paniro does nothing so I can see Block winning. If Frost was going I would pick him though
I think they were correct. He definitely didn’t wrestle for Iowa.

My take away so far..Keuter does nothing..ever. Peterson doing Peterson things (nothing for 2 periods and sneak one at end), Blaze may tech Ayala, Bailey took the money and wants nothing to do with wrestling

Paniro is one of the more frustrating guys to watch. All kinda of ability
Dresser goes full Harbaugh/Boeheim with the televised nose pick. Got in deeper than Johnson or Block did on any shots.
Dresser has the halftime break to decide whether or not to send out a backup at 157 to make sure they lose.
All the more action from him, he might as well transfer to Iowa!
Opponent's lethargy + length = Not so impressive win for Ryder (and ISU letting another one slip away). That was another hard watch.

Paniro did nothing. That's the result he deserved.
Why didn’t Frost go? Dresser said he beat Paniro in 2 of the 3 wrestle-offs. I think he’s the better option. Paniro will wrestle 2-1 matches with everyone. He is what he is at this point

Paniro Johnson took one legitimate shot in 9 minutes of wrestling, then allowed a super-quick escape in the ride-out period. Dresser has got to be second-guessing his decision to go with Johnson instead of Frost at 149.

I don't see any reason to believe Frost would've beaten Block. Certainly nothing in their common opponents results.

Ive liked him alot because he looked so good his true freshman year and I've given him to much credit since the gambling probe, dresser definitely blew it, he lost 2 of the three wrestle offs to frost and he still gave him the nod in a match of this caliber... what a maroon!

Maybe. But if your game plan is to win with one legit shot in 7 minutes, plus being unable to keep the opponent down for more than 3 seconds, the margin for error is pretty damn thin.
I predict Ferrari will score a lot of knee downs later today and will easily lead the NCAA (hell, all wrestlers - any style, any level) in that category for the season.
