Close call here . But I think you gotta go with what was called on the mat

There is nothing that I hate more than officials reviewing their own calls. Now, in this case, he actually over-turned it, but, I truly question if he does that if this match was in Iowa. It was extremely close, so, I actually agree that, in that case, you stick with the call on the mat.

Yep that match will determine the dual. Was close don't let it come down to the refs

Believe it or not, but I actually feel a little bad for Arnold. He didn’t do himself any favors by calling out Starocci, but he’s done everything possible to try to fit into the Iowa lineup and he goes at whatever weight he is needed. When he goes out and wrestles the current “Iowa style,” (sic) he loses every close match. I’ll bet there are other schools that would love to have him in their lineup.

Reaction time changed by the month.

Showed far less control than Duke in the Taylor match as well - never got fully behind Arnold (i.e., never fully turned the corner on Arnold's left leg / hip). Based on Tom's analysis of the Duke Challenge vs Taylor (not granted) - that was a horrid reversal of the call on the mat. Again, Fishback never got fully behind Arnold - a requirement if it isn't a Merkel takedown.

We had a guy like that. His name was Mason Manville. Only difference is wrestled the (close) matches without the mouth.

Im shocked they gave that to OSU. But you are right. It was probably the right call. Im guessing no way that gets flipped in Carver.

Disagree that it was the correct call - did not show control beyond reaction time. Fishback wrapped his arm around Arnold, but never turned the corner on Arnold's left hip / leg with his body such that he was fully behind Arnold. Fully behind is the requirement on non-Merkel takedown. That control was not established beyond reaction time.

Beyond reaction time has no set amount of time it's the refs judgement. He felt it was 3.
