Tonight's game plan .........

Punch NEB in the mouth right from the opening tip, and then keep throwing haymakers. At least on the defensive end, if not both.

Limit mistakes, more commonly known as turnovers.

Limit Nebraska's 2nd/3rd/4th etc chance oppos, IE REBOUND!!!

Get up good open shots, even if quicker than normal. Don't need to overpass and try to sneak dimes into bad & crowded areas every single possession.

Make a good - or better - % of the FTs.

But honestly, the most important thing - no matter how - is ....

If we ever start making open 3s on the regular, that would go a long way too...

When it comes to Sandfort, whoever is on him needs to think of the following:
Coach Norman Dale:
Stick with your man. Think of him as chewing gum. By the end of the game, I want you to know what flavor he is.
The 2026 Hawkeye Productions re-release is premiering tonight with some plot twists:

The pre-game meeting goes roughly the same and the second preacher again reads the passage "and David put his hand into the bag and pulled out a stone ..." This time while reading the preacher produces a stone for dramatic effect, apparently.

But now the preacher, with a strong resemblance to Rev Bob Holzhammer, produces many more stones and slays the entire team!

The evil Huskers are dead!

Some/all here might disagree with me but I'm fully at peace even if we dont win, and this is coming from someone who lives in Omaha! To slay a Sweet 16 dragon, to do it how we did it vs. a #1 seed on essentially their home court in Year 1 of Ben is simply insane. Neb has their best year EVER in bball with a coach there for 6+ years and we have what we have it's pretty incredible. Maybe I'll change my tune at tipoff but a loss to Neb in football seems to sting a bit more...
I disagree. Don’t lose to those effers.

Let's face it....this is a game neither losing side will be able to sleep at night or "get over" for a long time. When you hit the tourney wall against the likes of UConn or Arizona or Houston, or Duke....or hell, even one of the traditional in-conference elites like Michigan, Michigan State or Purdue, that's one thing. But to be bounced this way after doing something one side has never done and the other side hadn't done this century, will be a very, very bitter pill to swallow indeed.

We've gotten this far in the tournament without vintage Stirtz... it's his time to shine
My thoughts too - honestly, if everyone else plays as hard and well as they did against Florida AND we get a hot shooting Stirtz, they'll win this walking away.

Plus making 75-80% of the damn FTs would certainly help as well.
