About Endene and his neck,
At Penn State I roomed with Fuzzy Young who was a QB at DuBois. They had an old fashioned, Woody Hayes-style coach. In the 2nd quarter I believe, he complained about his neck hurting. Coach slapped him along side his helmet and told him to get back in there. He played the 2nd half with a broken neck. This was before the halo, so he spent 9 months on his back in traction. The scar running down the back of his neck was like a Frankenstein scar.

Look, I've followed Penn State since the 60's, I had my share of humble pie. What I'm saying is, I think I have wrestling PTSD.
My wife graduated from Clarion and I told her I wasn't going to say a thing when Clyde Frantz wrestled Wade Schalles, Wade gave him his leg and Clyde bridged for a minute 14 before the ref slapped the mat, while my wife was screaming and true to my word, I said nothing.
If we start at 125# and it's 0-0 after 1, I'm going to be nervous.

From what I know, my birth father was a multi-time state placer in California and none of his progeny ended up wrestling. One of my only early childhood memories was going to tournaments as he worked on the side as a ref. None of us wrestled. Among us 5 siblings are two former D1 soccer players, a D1 water polo player, and D1 football player (me). My oldest brother may have been the best athlete (football and baseball), but he liked drugs more than school and was never close to academically eligible - the military saved his life. My mom never played a sport in her life, she (as the only parent, he was completely gone by the time I was 6) just let us try whatever we wanted.
The moment Max became a legend, iowa has yet to recover.

Great article. 141 - if Bailey wins, it won't be via a late takedown. I've seen some of his matches this year and the dude doesn't have a gas tank. I think Davis looks good at 141 and he's going to surprise moving forward...we'll see. Everyone is anticipating the matchup between Welsh and Ferrari. Something just occurred to me. Last year we all were looking forward to seeing CStar vs Arnold and Brands held back Arnold and threw in Ferrari. Maybe he’ll pull the same thing in reverse this year. Welsh vs Arnold. Of course Brands will be accused of ducking, but when does Brands ever care about what other people think?

It's funny how people thought Arnold because they wanted to see Carter smack him around, which meant ignoring Brands saying multiple times that Ferrari was getting the toughest matches within the 5 freebie shirt dates.
IIRC, Brands said something to that effect AFTER the dual to justify putting in Ferrari. Also, didn’t Arnold think he was going to start right up until the 174 match was finished? I distinctly remember Arnold being politely escorted out of the gym floor area because he was really upset.
