I expect Iowa to stall most of the match, never get called for it, and then when down with about 30 seconds to go, attack twice and some how we will get called for stalling both times, Iowa will get the point and tie/win a match.

Would love to see Rin get the nod in this dual to see how he has progressed in folk. Plus, if the entire allocation thing is correct, it benefits the team because I do not think Witcraft can get the W against Ayala.
If Rin wrestles his first folkstyle match against the #1 ranked 133-pounder in Carver, that would be pretty surprising. DT so far doesn't seem like the type to pull something like that, but if he does, and Rin somehow pulls out a win, he will instantly be a legend

Rin wins, it's a moment that is hard to top again and creates an expectation in the air of Uetake...that likely won't come to fruition. If he loses, well, he loses.

He’s a Japanese world team member and expected to be a bad ***. He certainly is one in freestyle and hoping for the same in folkstyle.
Seems like that info is locked up tighter than fort Knox. He did travel with the team to the Arkansas dual so that's a good sign. I would've liked to see him hit an open this year, but I imagine there's way more challenges with him compared to a normal redshirt. Language, culture and a new style of wrestling are all new for him so I guess we need patience.
It is stunning that with all the interviews with Taylor not 1 wrestling reporter has asked the Coach how that highly rated Japanese wrestler is doing in practice. He has not wrestled as a redshirt in any competitions, nor has there been any reports from practice. When I have listened to these interviews most of questions asked are uninteresting or really gives us no information. The reporters sure could do a better job and I would listen just for any information on Sakamoto.

I think reporters are generally over-criticized, but I agree with you. A lot of the questions are goofy and repetitive

Cael is the same way. I prefer Dresser's and Brands' approaches. They will tell you if they're not going to answer a question directly and the rest of the time they open up and show a little personality and provide their wrestling knowledge. The YouTube channel StaleMates has some nice longform interviews with those guys. Hopefully DT loosens up with time.
We have a big dual tonight, which will tell us a lot about how our Program is doing. Last year if I remember right, we were riding high and the balloon got popped. A victory over Iowa would be great especially at Iowa City. We ought to win at 125, 141, 174,184 and HWT. Best chance for upset would be 197. Obviously, bonus will be important because it looks like 5 weights we are favored and 5 weights they are favored.
If Ferrari goes, he could very well beat Plott.
Hate that I feel pessimistic going into this duel. Maybe I’m just beaten down by the disaster that has been every other major OSU sport this year
Ferrari is real good but Plott if he wrestles good should beat him. He is an outstanding 5th year senior against a true freshman.
Shame because there’s so much any of us would love to ask yet those guys are sitting with David freaking Taylor like “so what did you think when your athlete won a match?” FFS lol
