if I understand this correctly - this is huge. you would not need the Ipad - Apple TV stream with the WatchESPN ap direct on Apple TV.

This should give you a much higher quality picture than the stream! I will try this tonight and check it out. This site pays huge dividends with what my wife sees as useless information time and time again!
I will extend my membership to the pack today!

I just updated the Apple TV and the picture quality is a lot better than using

the iPad or iPhone. This is awesome!

On every other platform, DirecTV authentication is offered with HBOGo. But not on AppleTV. WTF?

I don't know much about Apple TV but are you just netting ESPNU and ESPN3 w/ the app because you had access to everything else already w/ your cable or satellite package if you had a "login/password from your cable provider"?

Don't know about DirecTV, but Dish doesn't support WatchESPN. They do, however, support the newish Golf Channel Live. I kinda cheat and use my son's Comcast login information for WatchESPN.

I only have Comcast/Xfinity internet and am able to view everything on WatchESPN. We've gone the route of using Apple TV for Netflix, Hulu, etc. and a digital antenna for locals. So far so good.
