Is there a better music-playing app than the default one?

In particular, what I'd like to do is build playlists on the phone. Say you're sitting there and want to scroll through some songs and build a play list at the spur of the moment. Don't want to go to a computer, fumble with itunes, and then sync a playlist.

Shirley, there's a way to just throw together a playlist using the phone's music player. Can't find a way though.

Nevermind...found it.

Would still be curious to know if there's a must-have music player app.

<div>http://rdio.com</div><div>
</div>I use it more than iTunes/iPod on my iPhone. Its nice because you can sync music to your device so you can listen to it even if you aren't connected to the cell network or internet.<div>
</div><div>$10/mo is a good deal, especially if you like discovering new music.</div>

I have had nothing but problems with I-Tunes Match. Spotify is the best out there in my opinion.

+1 for spotify, but have your charger handy. You can download music to your phone, but if you stream it you will lose battery quick. <div>
</div><div>Edit: BTW your click wheel iPod can do what you were trying to accomplish, iWhatevers have been able to make on-the-go playlist since they were created.</div>
