Is anyone concerned?

That's the kind of stuff that's relatively easy to clean up, and most teams make their biggest improvements between week 1 and week 2. The key is that they didn't beat us today. This game isn't close today if we don't give them 17 points off of turnovers.

First game and qb puts up over 600 yards with a hungry defense of nobodies dominating

To me the biggest thing they gotta work out quickly is the center consistently snapping the ball properly. KJ had more than a few snaps that disrupted timing. He seemed frustrated even before he got that snap into his chest when he wasn’t ready.

The same thing happened on the forward pass that was almost a fumble in the 4th. Costello was ready for the ball and clearly flustered when he didn’t get it at the right time in the count. Then all the sudden Smith snaps it and the timing was off for everybody. Smith had 4-5 occurrences of not knowing the count and snapping it in the right time, plus a few bad snaps in general. It led to one turnover, one almost turnover, one burned timeout, and 2 or 3 broken plays. May just be first game jitters so I’m not trying to pile onto the guy, but he’ll need to be better. I’m sure it will be a focal point this week in practice.

KJ said in his press responses that we left some things out there. The guy is definitely confident. He thinks it should have been a worse beating than it was. And looking back, I agree. LSU May have better talent than MSU, but our guys were the better team today.

Concerned? Nah not at this stage. Turnovers can be fixed and the two fumbles were kinda fluky. We were the better team today by a pretty good bit.

When you throw it as much as we do, there are going to be turnovers. The good news is we just torched one of the most talented defenses we will see all year. Play a little cleaner and we will be in almost every game with this offense.

Considering the off season with covid, new offense, new coaches and a QB that had to get use to game speed in the SEC.. I am not worried. That will be fixed.

No. Not yet. I think we get better as the season goes along. Plus I think LSU's defense is pretty talented and it was our first time on the road with a new system with a lot of new players.

Yes but I am sure that the coaches are going to work hard on that this week after I saw the coaching job they did this fall with no spring practice.

Like somebody on Reddit said... You blow a 10 point lead in the 4th quarter and then win by 10 points while setting records along the way. That's Mike Leach hitting on all cylinders.

This. We really beat the **** out of LSU today. Obviously the offense and KJ was the main story but no reason to be disappointed in the defense.
