Is anyone else sick of seeing OM get away with stuff while we get targeted?

LaQuon Treadwell and Nkemdiche were given sideline passes, all access, and a private jet to fly them to the BBVA Compass Bowl vs. Pitt last year. They tweeted about the plane ride and everything. They get money thrown at them while at the library, and much more. We all know these things for a fact. So why is it that we get hammered over hundred dollar handshakes, a few meals, and ONE plane ride from agents; when OM is allowed to openly do the crap that they do? I also find it kind of funny that as soon as OK State makes headlines for all of their violations, a report targeting the SEC gets put out to overshadow it. We need a new compliance staff that knows not to open their mouths, or get the lawyers that OM gets. It's ridiculous how blatant OM does things.

Totally agree. I'm damn sick of it too. And private jets for recruits and shenanigans at the Library are only the tip of the iceberg. If it weren't for those bear lawyers, the NCAA would see what's really going on at TSUN and it would make the Okie St allegations seem trivial in comparision!

I didn't know we had upgraded to a private jet

Us getting in trouble constantly? Yes I am tired of it. I don't give two squirts about what OM is doing and getting caught for (or not).

I was beginning to miss threads like this. Rather than attempting to answer this, I will provide a post lifted from a certain Message Board of Hilarity by a wise gentleman by the name of ShotgunDawg which contains the answers to all that you seek. ShotgunDawg was responding to a query regarding whether the local media coverage coming out of Columbus was unfairly slanted in favor of Ole Miss, but his answer applies equally to your question.

Not sure of an answer but this is a growing problem that MSU must deal with.

About 90% of Talty's tweet are about OM
The new video girl for the CL talks mostly about OM
Pete Roussel talks mostly about OM
Veazey and the CA talk almost exclusively about OM
Godfrey
Wright Thompson
OM's mediocre to bad football program, will be the focus of two 30 for 30s on ESPN (Manning documentary and the Ghost of OM)
Bruce Feldman
Edward Aschoff
Tim Brando

The point is that we call these people homers all day long, but OM is destroying us with their media coverage and getting their message out.

Does MSU have a journalism department? and, if not, should we start one?

How do we combat this?

Wise man, that ShotgunDawg. Two simple steps. Just build your own journalism school and then begin controlling the message put out by the national media. YOU MUST CONTROL THE MESSAGE! Seems pretty simple.

Apparently so...who wants to remind him that everyone cheats? We just started sucking at it with our final round of JWS sanctions; got slapped hard and we weren't even winning with the players we purchased. That's what hurts! Never got our cheating mojo back...

This is a pretty novel concept. I've really never considered it. Let's discuss it more often.**

You really want to know why?

It's because we lay down and take it; we let the NCAA come in and we make them feel welcome and at home and tell them about any violations we have in hopes that they will go easy on us.

Well, they don't. Since most of the (successful) programs lawyer up and keep their mouths shut, the NCAA is left with no choice but to come down hard on us to make an example. They don't punish other teams because other teams don't have a staff that tells on themselves

Yes. But evidently their cheaters have a higher IQ than ours.

Until they hit the media for having done something, any post like this comes off as sour grapes and invites the red pants and loafer crowd over to pester the **** out of us.

We have enough to worry about right now. leave Ole Miss to those double secret NCAA guys.

Actually, you know what? I think you may have uncovered the mother of all conspiracies. Ole Miss is paying off those NCAA guys not to turn them in!

17ing gotta be!

If it's so out in the open, when will Ole Miss get in trouble? Shouldn't it be inevitable? It's not like the NCAA would give Ole Miss a pass. We would be their sacrificial lamb as soon as they could prove anything.

Your worst work. I will grant that with the number of times this sentiment is repeated, it has to get hard coming up with anything original and funny.

I did not write that quote. That is an actual quote from ED which was treated like a serious question.
