if in fact the University Presidents decide to vote down the bell compromise next year, are we as a univeristy prepared to take the fight to them?Do we have any leverage? Is there a plan?I do not remember where ipicked up this link, butour AD has some interesting things to say about the reasoning for the boards decision. Stricklin indicates thatthe actualnoise decimalis notathe problem(test were submitted). the presidents do not wanttoopen the door for artificial noise makers at thier stadiums. This rule blankets the SEC.The way around this is to make it an institutional rule and not a conference rule. this will allow each school to make thier own rules concernin artificial noise makers at their stadiums(i paraphrase Stricklin's comments). Most MSUfans do not carrythe bellinto opposing stadiums anyway. weshould be able to enjoy our tradition at home. If what he said is true, thanwe are beingsingled out by the other schools.

Our dubmass fans may be about to throw it away. I'm sure Stricklin will continue to fight for the cowbell all the way to the bitter end and beyond. But the simple fact is, we are being singled out and the rest of the SEC really doesn't give a **** so it really doesn't matter.

but lost the war. And blaming it on our fans was EXACTLY why the SEC argreed to let us win the battle.
