[QUOTE="Samuel S, post: 129389412, member: 1754664"] when you feel the need to besmirch others to defend Dana, pause a minute, and as whether you should think it through before posting. Nehlen inherited Luck, and it was lucky for him. I wasn't impressed with him as AD but he was a damn good QB. The remaininng 18 years: Hoss for 2-- anNFL QB and one of the best in our history Major, one of the best in our history, chose against don's advice to use only 3 years of eligibility Bulger: for 4, 3 as a starter and one of the best in our history We had 10 years where Nehlen did not have a GREAT college QB starting. White was very solid if not built for the pros; Kelcner was very good but injury prone. Greg Jones was a higly ranked and hyped recruit who did not pan out as well as hoped but got only 1 year to really prove himself. Johnston, Lewis and Studstill were not great players, but they weren't terrible, Lewis gets hurt because people remember how bad he looked in Rich's offense his senior year but that wasn't all his fault. People focus on Studstill getting his bell rung in the sugar and tend to ignore he played an important role in getting us there. The bad QBs were actually all concentrated in a 2 year period, 85-86, between white and Major. Not surprisingly that coincided with Nehlen' first of his infrequent struggles. Still, we went 11-10-1 those 2 years. He also recruited Nagle who was good enough to play in the NFL just not good enough to beat out Major and Rasheed who was a more than adequate QB for rich.
