Physically he looked more like a Senior and before the season JWS said he was the best DL prospect he had seen in twenty years.

McPhee, Boyd, Cox/Carmon, Ferguson will probably be the starters.

Back them up with McKenzie, Jackson, Cox/Carmon, McCardell and you've got the makings of a DL able to perform at a high level.

Devin Jones and Rodney Prince are capable backups too.

Now..... as to cornerbacks....

but Boyd looks as promising.

I would love to see Cox move to DE. Its kinda strange to me that we have some many guys that are sorta in between DT and DE. I know Turner likes to "grow" DTs, but I think thats kinda lame. It really hurts a guys chances in the NFL draft IMO.

ME mentioned Billy Jackson, but that was before my time.

Fletcher Cox was the best true freshman DL to play for MSU as far as I can remember. He impressed me with his play in the JSU game and continued to impress all year.

It'll be interesting to see if he can improve his play and maybe have a chance to play on the next level.

such a bad *** for his height and I think he recovered the fumble in the '80 game against Bama at the end. No true freshman will ever have the impact that guy did on the defensive line again.
