Is Gradey Dick the best case scenario for Gavin?

6’8” wing

Needs to improve strength and defense

I didn’t watch much of Kansas but this sounds an awful lot like what people who have watched Gavin have been saying.

Just went #13 overall in the draft.

Pretty decent comp.
Gavin is more of a ballhandler and creator for others, more of a run/jump athlete, Gavin is likely longer too. Dick was measured 6'6"1/4 with 6'8"3/4 wingspan
Guessing a year from now Gavin will be around the same weight ~205
I think Gavin has more upside as more of a guard and a more vertical/quicker athlete
Dick was #28 out of HS on Rivals - but higher elsewhere - ESPN had him 14

Stop hacking into my medical files 😉

Yes, I'm in my late 30s, graduate of our beloved Rutgers, work on Wall Street, have 2 kids and still making dick jokes.
I'm a child.

Shooters will always be my first choice. GD and Jordan Hawkins would have been my targets in this draft. If Gavin is like GD hes going to thrive. I think Gavin has better handles than gd though, time will tell.

I get it’s all about sparkle and sizzle, but give me a break with that outfit. If my kid was ever fortunate enough to be in that position and walked in the living room in that suit…I’d send him back to change.

Lol I feel like the Thompson twins' parents told them something similar. Plain navy blue and cream suits...

Will it ever end?

Why not Hawkins or Howard or jaquez or strawther etc they're all similar sized wings that can shoot and went in the first round

Sure maybe. Are those better comps?
Although Gavin is a higher rated prospect then all of them - #23 overall in 2023.

Jamie Jaquez was #83 in 2019
Jett Howard was #46 in 2022 (and also shorter)
Julian Strawther was #60 in 2020.

Will what ever end?
What's the problem with comparing him to other players with similar profiles? That's literally what happens with every other recruit.

I don't want Gavin to be a 1-and-done. I soooooooo want him to play in this lineup in 2024-25:

G - Dylan Harper
G - Derrick Simpson/J-Mike
WF - Gavin Griffiths, Mag
PF - Ace Bailey, Dortch
C - Woolf/Ogbole/Sommerville

In that scenario, Mag and Wolf transfer.

I don't know what WTF these kids are wearing these days.
Where do they get these suits.
Its embarrassing. Just get a well fit suit and look like a professional. The wanna be fashionistas is a joke. All professional athletes should emulate the nhl’s dress attire. Well fit, custom suits where you look like a presentable human and not a cartoon character
