last night Simmons picked off a Pitch Out and took it in for the TD. Is that considered a Pick 6 ?.

IMO it is a pick 6 lt is a foward pass unless it is a backward pass which is the same thing unless it hits the ground which is a fumble

The ball never hit the ground. Watching ther video the QB pitched it out and Simmons was coming hard and it was like it was pitched to him on purpose, which I know it wasnt. You can watch the Big plays from the game here: Southwest Stallions Official Athletics Website

Along with that one he also had a regular Pick Six and a great diving catch into the end zone for his 3rd TD of the night.

Sooooo. Is there an answer??????

I have my opinion ... I think it is a Pick 6. Guess we would have to ask the Official Scorer of the game what he was credited with. ON many reviews of the video the Pitch was behind the QB. So quess if a backwards pass is a pass then it is. Weather under handed or over hand. The ball was in the air and Chubb picked it out of the air. On another play a few years back the SWO LB took a handoff from the other team QB, is that a fumble ?? Just like refs the scorer will call it one way and another different.

If it’s lateral or backward, it’s not a pass, even if it’s in the air. Think of it this way. If it’s tossed backward, the person on the receiving end could still pass it. Can’t have two forward passes. So whether you term it a fumble or an intercepted lateral, it’s not a pass interception.
