That the university is selling the jersey Quay Evans wore in 2013?

I checked just to make sure and of the 4 games in 2013 where this was the jersey (Auburn, Arkansas, South Carolina, Texas A&M), he was the only 54 on the roster, which would have been the Auburn game in week 3.
I dunno... I saw it there and it just seemed... weird to be one of four on the site.

I'm not sure what the retired jersey status has to do with anything. It's not a replica or a generic Adidas jersey. It's physically the jersey Quay Evans wore during the Auburn game in 2013. It's one of the 'Hail State Auction' items right now. You can buy it for $75.

He had everything physically to at least make a run at it. He could have been a junior going into the draft coming off a 2014 season when Mississippi State had the world’s attention.

I mean yeah, the guy was really good. If you remember how many red flags he had in the recruiting process, he pretty much had to be an elite talent for us to waste a spot on him.

And the second biggest risk was probably Nick James, who was in the same class. Granted Nick's risk was that he would be lazy and have a bad attitude, not so much that he would end up a felon. But still had a lot of people from the Coast and long beach tell me not to get excited about Nick at all, and as far as I know, while he might have had some typical issues as a Freshman, I don't think he ended up being a problem at all.

Just hard to predict who is going to respond positively and get their **** together.

Agree. They were both risks that I trusted Mullen in taking. A lot of coaches I wouldn't have, but I knew if they were problems he'd get rid of them. One worked out OK, one didn't.
