Is it ridiculous to ask how do we know Dan really wants that job

he`s been there and knows the good and the bad. I know it`s a reach but who the hell knows.

He was only there a few years. It's not like he played there or his mom lives in Del Boca Vista: Gainsville Annex. I've never understood what makes this such an automatic from Mullen's POV.

Between the extreme pressure at Florida and knowing that some didn't even want you and then throw in the fact that Mentor Meyer is gone relatively quickly, I think Mullen stays at MSU where he can coach peaceably for many years.

If it is the easiest path to National Championships - off to Florida he goes. The risk of being canned 2 years down the road doesn't cross his mind if that's the case.

If he's into a nice paycheck with job security and a chance at being a football programs Bowden, Paterno, or whatever - then maybe the extra money/easy path to NCs doesn't outweigh security and longevity he would likely have it he decides to stick around at MSU.

The odds are heavily skewed to the former though...

It went something along the lines of "You will never have a more enthusiastic and less demanding fanbase as you do at State." Not saying that we are happy with anything, but we won't crucify you if you don't make it to the SECCG for a couple years.
