Is it safe to say that the AT&T gameday "upgrade"

was a giant failure? My iPhone was a nothing more than a brick for the entire game. Hell, I started having problems with 4g coverage three hours before kickoff.

you should prolly write a big letter to Stricklin about this and tell him how you feel....

just kidding, not directed at you, just that "big donor" who apparently did not like me calling him out on SPS the other day.

I was out of town last weekend, but I'm going in expecting nothing, and I imagine I will still manage to be disappointed with ATT... SSDS(same ****, different season)

The AT&T problem continues. Verizon however, my current carrier, allowed me to watch the Bear's game live stream on my iPhone. Best move I've made was dropping the AT&T

I have A Cspire iPhone and had no problems refreshing scores.

Persone next to me had a AT&T iphone4s and could never get anything through. On top of that, the phone was "searching" half the time.

I've been in Starkville for 14yrs AT&T has not changed a bit. Had at&t for part of it, they sucked then and still suck! Told me for years it would get better. Lied! They keep saying they're going to make it better. Lied again! Couldn't pay me enough to take their service!

tweeted something the other day about AT&T not utilizing their space for additional towers, or something like that. So apparently they havent even attempted to increase coverage.

Sounds like a pretty good reason for me to activate this Verizon i4 for one day just for data service... then "cancel" within the 15 day grace period...

Wonder if I could get it onto some kind of prepaid plan with Verizon just to use on game weekends?

I'm still rocking the Samsung Galaxy S on C Spire. Data was sluggish, but worked. Guess that is better than no data at all. Seemed like my texting went smoothly, though some were delayed because there were sent to ATT users.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the 4s, and I have one with Verizon, is only capable of 3G. The new one coming out in a month or so will have 4g capability.

I listened to that upgrade crap from AT&T for two years. Dropping them and picking up Cspire was a great move for me. No more carrying a brick in my pocket all game long and having to end business calls near Myrtle, MS on 78 because they are about to drop.

I could not even send a text. Like you said, nothing more than a brick. I may leave it in the car just so don't risk losing it at the game.

My wife has a 4s with AT&T and it does 4G. That's strange. I thought all of them would do that.

It's just a marketing thing with AT&T. It really isn't 4g capable. I can't explain I but you can look it up on google.

It's 3G+. Something along the lines of having two channels - upstream and downstream each have a dedicated channel. You aren't truly 4G until the status bar indicates LTE. Among Apple products only the 3rd Gen iPad can do this at the moment.

AT&T has placed "booster" stations by the stadium, but service is still crap. AT&T and our University have a signed agreement to build a new tower. It was supposed to be complete this year, but for some reason- politics stood in the way. The tower is supposed to be in place for the 2013 season.

Our corporate partner was AT&T until the heads in Amsterdam came up with an agreement with Verizon for all divisions worldwide. We had zero Verizon service at our plant and AT&T was constructing a tower 2 miles north of the plant site. They promised we would have full bars once the tower was activated. ******** liars, they pointed the coverage in another direction which gave us zero improvement in signal strength. Alltel had put a secondary tower on the AT&T tower and shortly after that Verizon bought them. Called corporate and said do it and within a month all 40 mobile numbers were ported to Verizon and now we can actually talk on the phone in our office. AT&T made no effort to keep our business either. I will be dropping 3 personal lines I have with AT&T at the end of September when the contract expires. Two belong to my grown kids and they will pick up plans with CSPIRE or Verizon at that time.

AT&T Announced in the summer that they would not be doing the upgrade at MSU. So after they announced they would do it during the season then backed out when you weren't paying attention, I see it worked exactly as they planned. Basically AT&T doesn't give a **** about you. And if you are dumb enough to stay with them you pretty much get what you deserve. CSpire has the best network in the SouthEast and I believe Verizon (my carrier) leases space from them in the stadium. My phone was working great the whole game.

Get off AT&T!

I agree, AT&T is terrible in some spots. The only thing that keeps me around (besides I am grandfathered in for unlimited data) is the fact that I can talk and use data at the same time. I am on the phone constantly with clients and employees and looking at a web-based software as we talk. Unless things have changed with CSpire or Verizon, Ill have to suffer the wrath of AT&T for the foreseeable future.

I would change but AT&T has the best service in our area where we work. There's a giant hole in tunica and Tate counties where there's no service with cspire and Verizon but AT&T has full power. I'll sacrifice using my phone for 3 hours at a game than not have service when I really need it at work.
