POLL Is it time to remove balls and stikes from the umpires?

Is it time to remove balls and strikes from the home plate umpires and give them to the machines?

The machines are accurate to within an inch and the umps are not to say the very least.

The World Umpires Association is the union representing Major League Baseball umpires in labor negotiations.

The most recent labor contract between the umpires and Major League Baseball was ratified in January 2015 and is valid through the end of 2019.

2020 would be a good time to start using a computer for balls/strikes.

Hacking would be a problem. It would have to be a stand-alone box.

I don't watch baseball anymore, like a lot of thibgs for that matter. If you were to ask me, leave it as it is. Unless you want to replace the players with machines also. The could be bigger stronger faster.

It would speed up the game, which is always a plus. It would free up hitters to swing away because their strike zone would always be the same no matter where they are playing or who is behind the plate. More offense & faster game, to me it's a no brainer.

Only 8 people have an opinion on this. Not many baseball fans on here I guess.

Yep, because a consistent strike zone is such a travesty :flushed:.

Baseball has to change...

I was at the park Saturday and all 4 soccer fields were full but the 3 diamonds were empty...
