I cheated and used the ISHA site for rosters from last Championship game
MC is so loaded on both sides of the ball - obviously QB is the big question but with the WRs and RB coming back should be just fine
Rice's OL should be solid

TE - McNamara (Jr) - high 4 star kid
OT - Posey (Sr) - returning starter - some nice P4 offers
OG - Diaz (Jr) - returning starter from DePaul (transfer in with brother)
C - Houff (Jr) -might be put at DE or DT - but just slating him here (decent size 6'3)
G - Frazier (Sr) - part time starter last year - big 6-2 280
OT - Diaz (Sr) - older of tht transfers - started at DePaul big kid 6'5 270 (decent FBS offers)
QB - Gallasso (Sr) - has played up since Soph yr - has gotten some decent playing time over years - he's solid -
Backup will be most likely the incoming Frosh (kid with Michigan and Oregon offers) - https://x.com/sb1qb
RB - Davis (Sr) - decent FBS offers - upcoming Junior will be a good backup
WR - Strang (Sr) - very solid - FCS level kid
WR2 - TBD (had a couple of Srs to be who got some catches
WR3 - Halpenstein (Jr) or the Sr to be (Cartalano - baseball player who got hurt before eason and sat out - very fast)
McGee will also get thrown in as WR - too talented to keep at DE-OLB
MC QB situation is a question mark but in a good way. They have 4 in the building right now that can get the job done. Elliott had a very strong performance on the Freshman level but I think he would benefit taking the same route as his brother and being a Varsity backup as a Sophomore. 1 of them is inevitably going to transfer unfortunately. It will be an interesting to see who works the hardest to get the keys to the car this August.

How does Rice defense look? I watched most of their games and the middle backer was awesome to watch. Thought I seen him sign somewhere but couldn’t find the post.

They'll miss Barkmeier a lot. He was old school - great hitter.
The D should be solid
DE-McGee - Jr - legit 5 star kid (remember tweeked groin in 1st half vs MC so this year hopefully he'll stay healthy)
DT - Parks - another high 4 star kid (I think he's picking ND)
DT - Lofton - got good reps last year filling in for Parks and Liggins
DE - Costello- solid size - got some decent reps when Sullivan got hurt (good wrestler)
They have some rising Juniors who should also get some time on the DL
LB is where they have holes to fill - they have a Soph coming up (Logan Monroe) who will be in the mix for MLB as will Sr to be Rocky Green
DB should be solid with a couple of kids coming back (Thigpen, Moore- who has some P4 offers, Harris, etc)

Have we ever seen a falling junior?

I don't think they ever had a bad team, I expect LWE to be just fine
They may be fine, but there is no QB waiting in the wings that can compete at a BR or MC level, perhaps even others in their conference. Maybe a transfer is coming, but based on who has graduated, LWE is going to take a big step down this year. No way can they compete with MC or BR - or Loyola, for that matter. For the record, I'd love to be wrong.

LWE will go undefeated during the regular season
Minimum one loss to BR, probably 2-3 more after that. If you watched them last year, they had a very strong team, but once Williams went out with the ankle, they dropped two games they should have won, and never recovered.

Even with Williams back, MC embarrassed them - and that was a very, very good and talented LWE team - they had multiple Power 5 and a few D1 players - best talent they have had in years. Early in the year, they looked at least as good as MC, but we saw how that worked out.

And I’m a huge LWE fan, live there and have kids that go there, so I’d love to be wrong, but I think this is a down year.

This could be the biggest Rice OL its had ever - bookend OTs both 6'5 and each 285 plus. Both with a good number of FBS and FCS offers. Interior OL will be Frazier and most likely 2 Jrs. TE McNamara is a big kid too. So should be fun to see MC at Rice this year. Hopefully we can get some payback for last year.

Fyi. The Diaz brothers are actually the Ríos Brothers. Carlos '27 OT. Lucas '28 G.
