I'm sure if you asked Marshall Henderson who Tony Fein was, he'd be able to tell you.

Other teams do it too in a mocking manner. Even Missouri (who had probably never heard of Ole Miss before they joined the SEC last year) players did it when they scored against the Bears.

But no, it's not classless. If we were doing it as the originator, THEN it would be classless.

Bump

I'm interested in this whole dealw all of our fans rushing the field? Wouldn't we have been fined? To my knowledge, we haven't received such fine.

It's not sick. It's just stupid. And making it out to be an honor to a guy who died of a drug overdose is maybe not the best choice of people to be honoring.

Or maybe they're honoring a guy who was a team leader after spending 2.5 years as a Delta recon scout in Iraq during a 4 year tour.

They aren't honoring anyone. They're taunting opponents, plain and simple. Fein is just a convenient excuse to make yourselves feel better about it. If Ole Miss has some rubes that believe that story that's y'all's problem. Stop trying to sell it to the rest of the country though. Makes y'all look as naive as you did trying to sell Col Reb being a black guy.

I love how once you got called out by everyone on the board for lying about us "rushing the field," you just totally dropped it and started bitching about something completely different.

Go ahead- please tell us that you were wrong about our fans storming the field. I really think you are too self-righteous and pretentious to admit it.

The landshark is apparently in memory of Tony Fein, who died from a drug overdose. He was an Army vet, mixed some drinks with some pills, but they don't think it was suicide.

That's what they're referring to. I respect that, but I don't feel a lot of their players even really know that.

That's what I heard too and that is my response.

You're going to answer this question, or you're going to be getting a new username when we open it up on Signing Day. Who rushed the field?

At least the rumor has subsided to only rushing the field instead of tearing down goal posts. Looks like we're slowly breaking down the propaganda machine.

Apparently, Red thought he was among fellow klansmen when he flung that nugget of monkey **** against the sixpack wall.

I have never in my life seen so much misdirection, distraction, and outright ******** from this bunch of mentally unhinged lunatics. The Spirit board looks more like open internet night at Whitfield.

When I saw it in real time it looked like y'all were rushing the field. Looking at it a few minutes ago it looks like a mix of players and some students. You can see some jumping the wall. But it wasn't as many as I originally thought, but I admit I turned it off at the start of the Dak interview and didn't look until now.

Some students = MAYBE 15 of them out of the 10,000+ total who were there. Everyone else who was on the field after the game were the people who had sideline passes and were already there.

But hey, whatever fits in your spin machine. The Egg Bowl is the Super Bowl to us while y'all don't give a **** about State and consider LSU your "real rival"***- that's exactly why the UM student body rushed when they beat a so called bad/overrated State team, but stayed in the stands when they beat a top 10 LSU. You people just say that **** to make yourselves feel a false sense of superiority.

Honestly, you're probably just pissed off everyone on this board called you on your ********.

Yeah, I'm completely devastated. Oh how will I ever recover. I was wrong on a messageboard! Oh noes!!! I must cower in shame! How will I ever reconcile my "false sense of superiority" if I was wrong and someone saw it?! My entire identity as a person has been destroyed!!

Oh yeah, I'll go to work tomorrow just like a normal person and be the same person I am every other day of the week. Because some people know sports are games. And we watch them for fun. And just because we pull for your university's rival doesn't make us any different than if we pulled for your university! We could have just as easily been a State fan and you would think we were awesome.

Some of you really do need a reality check. It's weird how some of you think all Ole Miss fans are terrible people who use, cheat, and abuse every day in our lives. 99% of us are just normal people.

When did I say all UM fans are terrible people? Do I think a lot of them are cocky and have a false sense of superiority? Yep, no doubt about it.

Really, I just think you are an idiot.

So you are saying we are all the same? That's weird, all I have ever heard is how great ole miss fans are while we are a bunch of dumb rednecks

We're all the same when they lose. Before that though, well just check out Red Cup Rebellion.

Exactly- when State wins Red Victory wants to sing Kumbaya around the fire and say "we're all the same."
When UM wins, it's storming the field, #FeedMoncrief, #MoncriefStillOpen, "Most redneck MSU thing ever" lists, ect. all 17'n offseason.

I didn't read it, so that's incorrect. But my statement is true. Ole Miss fans by and large label MSU fans as trash, rednecks, and hicks right up until the clock goes zero on an Egg Bowl loss, then "we're all Mississippians." Have heard that my whole life.

From what I've seen, albeit limited, the ones who say that before (and mean it) generally say the same thing afterwards. But I don't come across many people who say it in anything other than jest. I'm not counting the Spirit board, because that's not an appropriate sample of intelligent/sane people.
