These observation are made after seeing coaching speculation both nationally and locally .It is produced in response to those who say who would want the job or say insiders tell them no one wants job . In my opinion that's the UK athletics department telling their fans no one wants to be here lol. Look at it objectively 1.)we are in richest conference the SEC our coaches are well paid and their is money for taking if you win ( heck look at Stoops buy out and he is losing and looks lost) 2.) we have new facilities that are supposedly on par or better than any in country3.) we have enough young talented Wr and Rbs present on Offense to play entertaining and up tempo and give you a chance to win every game. 4.) We have a school 60 miles down the road that proves you can recruit enough talent to the state of Ky to win and be a contender in any conference(anybody that doesn't think UL would win SEC east is crazy )we are centrally located in eastern USA and been proven by both schools no reason you can't recruit 5.) we have a good core group of young DBs that can in a situation of wide open games make plays if the coach pushes right button.6) We have a 5 star lt tackle who is holding his own as a true freshman and can be cornerstone of a good oline moving forward , we have a bunch of big young guards with a highly rated leader type center being redshirted that should put o line on solid footing going forward . 7) Lb position is a work in progress but Jones , Daniels and Brown give me hope it is on a upward trajectory .
On the opposite side of the ledger the 1.) DL is a mess and will take a revamp and restart by this staff or another to just be competitive . 2.) QB position is a question ?a 4 star who just can't hit his stride a stop gap juco QB that we will lean on heavily rest of season but unsure if he is answer and a redshirt fresh that per this staff has shown promise but position is a question mark.3) a culture of negativity and poor management by university for past seventy years that will be biggest hurdle.
Still taking all things considered why isn't this a very desirable job for a confident coach who knows he can do it lol. I would ask J Rowland or D. Terry or whoever to point out any fallacy I have produced or shoot down my opinion that a Bobby Petrino or equally successful coach wouldn't be winning and competitive here now and in future.
