I don’t think he’s there yet, but he’s heading in that direction.
I haven't seen a qb like him since Elway, and I always thought Elway was the most feared qb to play against.

Much easier when QBs can barely be touched. Ten years ago they got hit on just about every single play.
Yet guys like Montana and Elway still won- Marino is the very definition of overrated.

This is a great point. If you watch the super bowl 30 min clips from the past, I watched all of the steeler Super Bowls. You see the qbs getting crushed. I’m sitting their thinking, well today that is a flag and that is another etc.
18 playoff games on a team with no running game and no defense. He single handedly carried that team. Overall they shouldn’t even have been a playoff caliber team yet they made it consistently because of him. Does Mahomes make all the tackles as well? Winning a SB is not the sole responsibility of the QB.
That was college…he developed into a much better QB in the NFL. How many NC’s did Tom Brady win in college?
If you had to pick a Super Bowl QB from between Marino and Mahomes, I’d pick Mahomes. I’ll concede that Marino is statistically superior to Mahomes, so maybe we’re talking about two different things.
Depends on the team….I would take this year’s Chiefs over any Dolphins team Marino played on. Would you take a pitcher who got 20 wins with the Pirates or 20 wins with the Astros?
Fair enough. I’d take 1972 Steve Carlton over just about any other pitcher’s season.
It’s funny, the Brady haters use this argument all the time to downplay Brady’s accomplishments, but apparently it doesn’t apply to Mahomes.

Different game today. Now you have to ask if you can gently place the QB on the ground when attempting a sack.
No doubt about that.
Still doesn’t negate the fact they can’t get hit. Twenty years ago they would have been going after Mahomes ankle on every play. He never would have made it to the Super Bowl.
