Let's see who try to keep their rivalry going in weeks 1 and 2 of the District format. I suspect most were forced rivalries due to conferences and neither team really wanted to play each other. I could be wrong but, it's a thought I had this morning.

Would love to see Joliet Catholic play Mount Carmel and Providence every year in non-district match-ups. Morris and Montini would be great rivalry games as well.

Maybe Joliet West cuts down on their travel and plays the 5A school down the road.

Always liked the Lockport vs Sandburg rivalry but even though these two teams are in the same conference they for some unknown reason have not played each other in years.

We’ll hopefully keep St. Charles North and Geneva with our district. Should be safe with those two. St. Charles East we would not play in district. That would be a good week 1 or week 2 game.

Always wanted to play Marmion consistently. Had a great home and home back in 2010 and 2011. Saw Soucie had a district projection with Marmion and us together. But with them not having the multiplier, I assume, in the future, we won’t play the crosstown private school.

Kaneland would be another rivalry that has diminished since Little 7 and Suburban Prarie days.

Marmion or Kaneland would draw a good crowd as week 1 or week 2 game when districts come around. We have Eastside for a two year contract and Naperville North is week 2 next year to end the two year contract.

All.... Hey now how about the Cyclones? SHG overall is 0-4 against the Hilltoppers. Was hoping for a rematch during the 14 & 15 title runs of the Cyclones but it didn't work out. Nothing wrong with a long distance home and away game in the two year time stretch. It's on my bucket list! And as you are aware all Catholic versus Catholic games regardless of how often they occur fall under the rival clause. (lol) Ratsy

Be interesting to see if ESL keeps Belleville West and Edwardsville on schedule weeks 1& 2. I Think maybe a rotation or not at all classic will still be week 2.

I can foresee Wilmington wanting to keep Coal City, its biggest rival, and Manteno as its non-district games against 4A opponents.

The Coalers seem to be on a quality opponent search...Morris could be a continuing matchup, or they could go ?

Manteno will presumably keep Peotone with the Route 50 Rumble, the biggest rivalry for both schools.

Herscher has been playing Momence & Clifton Central, long time traditional rivals, but I could see the Tigers looking for bigger opponents.

The Daily Journal is pushing for McNamara to go back to playing Kankakee and Bradley; Kankakee is game, Bradley wants no part of playing a 4A school despite the tradition & history. Zinanni broke out the traditional Irish-Boilers trophy for a photo...I could see Kankakee playing Mac & Bradley, or maybe Herscher...

Or for a real local horror? Mac has a couple of less stellar seasons, loses the multiplier and
drops to 2A for a district with Momence & Clifton Central...

RC? Who knows...

I could see Lisle coming down to play former rivals...
