Sills looks pretty good, had more passes thrown to him than White, Thompson, Clay, Weldon, Jennings did individually. Never saw a ball thrown to Jennings but from his return's he looks pretty good in the open field. Lots of passes out of the backfield to Smallwood, Crest and Shell. The most common pass seemed to be something deep, over 30 yards, after that the swing pass and bubble screen. I could go back and check the numbers but I think well over 30% of the passes were deep balls. Howard only had a a few really bad balls. Many of those slightly underthrown would have been catches against a slightly less competent defense. He spreads the ball to different receivers pretty well. 5 passes were dropped that were catchable, two were off the fingertips and would have been amazing catches. Gibson, Sills and I think Durante all caught balls that were circus catches and subpar throws. Howard's 47 yard bomb to Thompson was perfect (and his only catch of the day I think). Only two quick hitter slant passes thrown all day. Crest had one beautiful throw on a trick play that would have been a TD without the interference (called). Crest had two other throws that were uglier than anything Howard threw all day. Conclusions: Howard isn't awful - some of those throws are only inches off. Our receiver corps is very good, and very deep. Too many deep balls, not enough slants and quick hitters. Crest does not look like a consistent passer. Penalties continue to be a problem. Would rather see Sills get some snaps than Crest. Why not? I don't think Crest has been terribly effective although that one pass that he threw would have been remembered a while if not for the defensive interference call.

[QUOTE="skygusty_rivals, post: 129386795, member: 1500287"] I went back and watched the game against Baylor again. Well actually, i only watched the pass plays. My conclusion: The receiver corps is young and really good and probably pretty deep. White was only thrown 2 or 3 balls and he looks good. Gibson is the real deal He could start anywhere. Durante is really good, he could start anywhere.
