Is the Left Field Lounge our version of the Grove?

We make fun of Ole Miss because it seems like they put much more emphasis on the sacred Grove than their actual football program. As long as the Grove is a happening spot, the actual results of the football team take a backseat. Have we become that way with the Left Field Lounge? It seems like all we care about now is setting attendance records and what announcers say about our stadium and LFL experience. The game itself almost seems secondary now. As long as we fill up the LFL a couple weekends out of the year and have announcers say what an awesome spot it is, everything is fine. If the team wins, that's great, but it's really all about the LFL experience. I don't know about everyone else, but I'd trade a lot of that experience for a team that is nationally competitive every single season instead of middle of the pack SEC and hope to get hot and make a miracle CWS run once or twice every 10 years.

The attendance was a result of playing for a national championship last year, great weather, football expectations, and playing Ole Miss( and yes if we were playing LSU we still would have set the record). So success led to LFL being the way it is, LFL would not be the same without the success, see previous 6 years.

One BIG difference, we don't leave a game to go to the LFL like the

Julep sippers when they leave the game for the grove and try to impress those around them.

Easy enough to be upset about the results on the field and plenty of reasons for it. No need to get depressed but at least for once we can say we won the party.

I don't know if it means more than the game, or the results of the game, but from my vantage point I saw hundreds and hundreds of people out in the outfield that probably were not even aware a game was going on......behind them.... if you get my drift.**

If Alcorn beats this team, then there will be more in the outfield than the stands rest of the year.
