We make fun of Ole Miss because it seems like they put much more emphasis on the sacred Grove than their actual football program. As long as the Grove is a happening spot, the actual results of the football team take a backseat. Have we become that way with the Left Field Lounge? It seems like all we care about now is setting attendance records and what announcers say about our stadium and LFL experience. The game itself almost seems secondary now. As long as we fill up the LFL a couple weekends out of the year and have announcers say what an awesome spot it is, everything is fine. If the team wins, that's great, but it's really all about the LFL experience. I don't know about everyone else, but I'd trade a lot of that experience for a team that is nationally competitive every single season instead of middle of the pack SEC and hope to get hot and make a miracle CWS run once or twice every 10 years.
