I just saw something on Facebook where people were getting tired of the "TSUN" phrase or they said said it was getting old and thinks that Ole Miss should be called something new. What are your thoughts??

Personally I don't think it's wearing out...that wasn't a teddy bear that said otherwise was it?

For me, yes. TSUN sounds like that silly "ku" drivel on the old board. However, when Mullen just makes reference to "the school up north," I chuckle.

I also like Jackie Waynes' "Mississippi."

I suppose I like the irreverence in the way Mullen and Jackie Wayne refer to UM.

I know it's completely under their skin. One of their players went off about it early at SEC media days, then someone talked to him, and the next time he was asked about it, he said it didn't bother him. Right.

I personally don't use it. I don't care if Coach Mullen or the program uses it. More power too them. If it gets on the Rebels' nerves, i say go for it. I like where Mullen and company have brought the rivalry back too. As far as something new, I would say no.

Personally, I've always like calling them Mississippi like Jackie did. But as long as Mulllen keeps kicking that ***, he can call them whatever he wants to. And it is funny how both really get under their skin and they go out of their way to say it doesn't.

I don't like it anymore. I would really like to have Mullen and crew start calling them the Black Bears or just the Bears. It drives their older fans nuts.

I can see how it's a phase thing.

I guess it will probably be around forever but use will probably fade.

I like The Kang's "Mississippi"...Ole Miss has a huge asset in the fact that their college actually has the name of their state in the name yet they do all they can to run away from it. Look at Alabama and Auburn. Besides the winning part, people support Alabama because it has the name of their state in it. As far as State, we are trying to take advantage of this. Notice all the references to the state of Mississippi. I think it was clever how Jackie was actually throwing one of the Bears' biggest assets right in their face. Long live the Kang!

My personal favorite

was when Dan said that Ole Miss looked like some Spanish spelling. As in Ole' Miss.

I liked it then, I like it now, and I hope we call them TSUN forever, as well as the bears. Even the bears up north works for me. TBUN!

Anything that gets under their skin is ok by me. As a State fan I feel a moral obligation to use any word or words that upsets those a-holes.

No, you're right Jack. All I am saying is that they aren't using the full potential of their brand while Stricklin and Co. are.

It's not as old as GTHOM and that is still going strong. It doesn't matter what we call them, steadily kicking their *** is certainly not getting old. I guess we can change the chant to GOHTSUN.

I believe using TSUN, the Bears, or anything else that gets under their skin is appropriate.

Yes, I like those

I prefer just Bears over Black bears because of its simplicity.

Also, UMiss is one of my favorites. I don't know why it upsets them because it's what they are. And 'Mississippi' is a bit hard to pronounce ... particularly for them after they've imbibed in the Grove for a while ....

We should put Bears, Black Bears, or UMiss on our scoreboard rather than Ole Miss.

I think what's tiring is the concept that Ole Miss is even a legitimate major college sports program. I look at them as one of the Mililtary Academies without the brave men and women willing to fight for our country, or an Ivy League school with all the inbred legacies and none of the smart people. They need to re-think their purpose as a University, then drop to the Gulf South Conference where they can finally give Delta State their first real rival since MC went Division III.

The Mississippi State University should perhaps give them a "money-game" every 3-4 years, along with Jackson State and Alcorn State, to help with their athletic budget. Now that Miss. Valley has been dropped, perhaps we should insert them into the schedule for the 2013 game.

Brand?

No, you're right Jack. All I am saying is that they aren't using the full potential of their brand while Stricklin and Co. are.

With all due respect, what brand? Nationwide anyway. We are the poorest and fattest state in the nation. We also have a history of race relations that is disgraceful, at least to most of the nation. The "Mississippi" brand might mean something in Tutwiler or Aberdeen or Possumneck, but in most of the country, it doesn't project a positive image.

It should be all lower case....tsun. No, it's not wearing out, and because of your post I will use it much more frequently now.

The whole TSUN was created just to piss Ole Miss off. Until that stops I say keep saying.
