One rumor is that Foley talked Meyer in to his "leave" rather than leaving because Coach Dan would not commit to come back to Florida!!!

Byrne is increasing Mullen's salary to 4.6 million next year. That is why Florida urged Meyer to come back. They knew that they couldn't mess with MSU money.

Mullen was their only choice. Foley was quoted as saying "To hell with your health Urban... either I get Mullen or you're staying"

Sounds perfectly logical to me... perfectly logical.

I had heard nothing about the contract. I heard it had more to do with Meyer staying there. Coach Dan did not want the "legend" looking over his shoulder at every move.

They are naming Scott Field after Mullen as well. That is part of the new contract. Megan will be serving the ice water and gatorade for the team as well during games.

If Foley wanted Mullen in Gainesville, he would have packed up the kids, left all the **** in his house for whomever wanted it, and hightailed it to Fla...and I dont blame him. I'm just happy as I can be that he is staying. Bout time we caught a break
