...that makes us pull what Miami did after getting blasted by Clemson?

Now I am saying this while being firmly in the "let's evaluate this after the season is over" camp.

But really there has to be an outcome that has to send a clear message that the Dana Experiment needs to end sooner than hoped.

Me personally? What Miami had done to them (52-0) would do it for me. Plug pulled.

I hope not. Even 116-0 wouldn't mean we have anything to gain by pulling the plug mid-season.

If nothing else, we have many seniors on this team and they deserve a fair shot to finish what they started without the disruption and turmoil that would cause. Waiting to the conclusion of the regular season doesn't disadvantage us in securing a new coach if that is what we decide to do. No one we would want can be hired in the middle of the season and we can quietly and discreetly do due diligence and preliminary contacts to be prepared to make a prompt and orderly decision when the time comes.

I would have Dana finish out the year as well. I would just tell him in advance that he better win to impress his next employer.

As ugly as it might seem, I say let this ride until the season is done. With each passing week, it's looking like 6-6 or 5-7 is the end result and potentially no post season bowl. smh

Unfortunately, I think we have to double down and let it ride.

Too expensive to buy Dana and his coaches out and pay the next guy and his staff a competitive salary.

It's still early yet - 8 and 4 is still possible (but not likely) which would be what it would take to basically keep him off the hot seat. No team from here out is ranked nor should they be. Every team from here on out we should be favored to win and should win. No excuses from here on will suffice. 8 and 4 or bust...

Next year, both Baylor and TCU should be down again. We return virtually our entire offense and a defense that while young in spots has game experience. Next year MUST be better - compete for the B12 or bust.

With the way college football coaching is becoming a carnival ride/clown car seemingly more so everyday, we don't have to be impatient. A good coach can open up at any time.

The only way you cut the cord now (at the end of the year) is if you have a sure-fire home run lined up in the wings. Right now, there isn't one...
