Kinda like an illegal immigrant, most can speak broken English but when the cops pull them over "No Engles".

I think he was just lying hoping that if he didn't sign it he wouldn't get the ticket.

He's not sharp enough to expect the cop to get a joke like that.

I also think that for all the talk about Powe really being able to read after all, he probably reads at a very low grade level (2nd grade wouldn't shock me at all).

I call buillshit. What he was doing was called "lying".
It was a futile, childish attempt to get out of a ticket, he obviously had no understanding of how these things work and he was trying anythin he could do to get out of one.

The worst thing is, this might have actually worked for him at some point in Waynesboro and he was trying it again, Where the hell else do you think to say that

What is up with reading the cops name and issuing a veiled threat? And what is a crazy face or whatever?

not buying!! It did not say he read the ticket out loud to the officer. He could have held the ticket in his hand long enough so that the officer thought he read it. Wonder how he signed it.... "X"

I take a stab at this reading thing from time to time. However, I like to look at the pictures more. I suppose to the untrained eye that would appear as though I was reading.

Probably joking. But I would not at all be surprised if Powe was the type that managed not to learn ****, including reading, through public schools & college.

......an institution of higher learning where most "literate" people struggle to succeed. Whether or not he can actually read is almost beside the point.

Which is why it still amazes me that we both have players that flunk out. You either have to be dumb as a brick or just plain lazy to not make the grades as a college football player.

...if your mama says you can't read, then there is about a 99.99% chance you can't read.

Besides, by the time Powe is a senior, he'll be playing tackle @OM beside his grandson.

If you can read, generational over-laps don't happen in college football.
