Is this idea cheesey or awesome sauce?

I was thinking about how hard it is to create in-game traditions. I think the last new cheer that stuck was the "EMMM ESSS YOOOOOUUUUUU" cheer. I was in school in the early 90's when the State cheerleaders came up with that.

Don't know how this would ever get started, but I think my idea for a new cheer is in order. We only do it once in a game. We only do it near the end of the 4th quarter. And we only do it when it looks like we're about to win.

Picture 0:45 left with a 10 point lead. Picture...

"THIS IS OUR STATE!!!"

I think the crowd would quickly pick it up and I think there'd be a high participation rate with it, much like "MAROON WHITE" (which is really a silly cheer except that the whole crowd participates).

I suppose you'd do it in the style of the oVERraTED chant. this IS our STATE (clap clap, clapclap). Also know as the anSU seeSAY cheer when I was at State and we'd play them. What a great name that guy had. don't know if the cheer bothered him but it was sure fun.

Another good use of this cheer could be used at the ole miss games only, in the fourth quarter when winning and instead of each side chanting maroon and the other white, you could have one side yell THIS IS and the other OUR STATE!

But overall, I like it and am always up for something a little different than the vanilla cheers we have now.

It would only apply to the Battle for the Golden Aig however. I hear it going something like the OhIo or Maroon-White chant where one side says This Is...other side comes in Our State

It's not about what LSU, Bama, AU and Ark would think about it. It's about what OUR fanbase would think about it. And even for out of state opponents, it's about them trying to come into OUR state and get a win and we're not going to let that happen (although obviously sometimes it will happen). I think it's a great idea.
