LULING, LA. — A house owned by former New Orleans Saints running back Deuce McAllister in Luling is scheduled to be auctioned by the St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office on July 27.

The auction could be called off before then, according to the Sheriff's Office.

A sheriff's sale of the house originally had been scheduled for June. In the meantime, the two sides have been working toward a settlement.

The scheduled sale stems from a writ of seizure resulting from a suit by Whitney National Bank against McAllister. According to the writ, McAllister owes $1.8 million on the mortgage with Whitney. That figure has been inflated by nearly $1 million because of two years' worth of added interest and other penalties while the negotiations were ongoing.

There is this and also the car dealerships in Jackson. I hate it for him. I'm not saying that you are taking any joy in this, but it would be a shame if anyone did so. He made an honest effort to put his money back into his home state. I know he had a stake in the King Edward renovation, and that he has helped many charitable causes in the Jackson area.

but he didn`t. He just trusted the wrong people while he was trying to do some good for people.

That is true. I first heard of him in the fifth or sixth grade from friends of mine playing select soccer. He's a prime case for those who say that if our best athletes played soccer, we would win the World Cup regularly. It wasn't uncommon for him to score five or six goals in a game. He was also a very good basketball player. He came and visited my school in junior high because we were going to give him a free ride to play. But he gave those up to play football, which is what kids from small towns like Morton are expected to do.

I know many State fans dislike him over the Wes Shivers thing, but I also know Wes. I don't doubt that Wes provoked Duece.

I've got nothing but respect for Duece.

On a side note, I heard he is going to be heavily involved in UM's recruitment of Quay. And since he ishurtingfor a dime, this can't be good for us.

And I don't care what Wes Shivers said. When you are a football player in full gear and you take your helmet off and smash it into a spectator's face, the cops should haul your butt off to jail right then and there. The incident happened in front of me, I saw it. For all the "Deuce worship" in Mississippi, he still has a few "thug genes" floating in his body.

Still, it is sad that he had a pile of money that is gone.

It's still amazing to me that people who "saw" it happen saw something that didn't actually happen. Deuce's helmet never came off, so I know you didn't see it first hand. There is video out there, and you can see Deuce backing off with his helmet still on his head. The legend has grown over the years.

Video (Just past the 40 second mark, near sideline, right at the 30 yardline):

Don't really want to start the argument over what happened, but I'm going to call Hays out for BS here. If you were there, you didn't actually see it happen.

On that note, why would someone in street clothes think it's a good idea to run out on the field during a brawl to try to mix it up with guys in pads anyway?

Kind of funny that in the TSUN video thread you talk about the klan and blacks at OM, then in this thread you refer to "thug genes". Wonder what that means?

The racist undertones of your thug post don't reflect well on the people's university.

It is racist that you think it only applies to African Americans when there are plenty of thugs of every color.

"Thug genes" when refering to a black man who has pretty much stayed out of trouble his entire life sounds pretty suspect.

He didn't say that he acted like a thug. He said he had thug genes.

Note to self: If I ever have money, do not invest in car dealerships.

It seems like every "financial obituary" you read about someone with 'new' money, athletes in particular, always involves car dealerships. Am I right?

if you think anyone can make out ANYTHING from that video. It's like watching Atari 2600 games. The resolution is horrible and you expect someone to believe you can make out Deuce on the far side of the field? Did you have a "wake & bake" session this morning?
